being told day one that they've taken away the option to play elves or dwarves is a major letdown.

I'm excited and not very worried. What we have officially heard so far is like five sentences about what it will contain, and I think people are reading into it to much. Besides, perhaps 9/10 who is complaining about it beeing Dragon Effect or Mass Age will still end up buying it. They always do...

I think it will be a great game and the new aspects seem interesting.

Definitely excited, with some worries. It's not so much that it's not playing our Wardens, or really anything new they've announced. I'm just worried that it will fail to capture the immersiveness and depth that DAO had. I worry that it will come out like Awakening, with a bunch of new people we're supposed to care about, but just...don't. Especially the main character, since in DAO we were with him or her practically from the beginning, and we watched him/her grow.

I hope I'm wrong, and the new characters will be every bit as interesting as the DAO ones.

Either way, the decision to buy it was made long ago. :)

Maybe Bioware can make a special DLC based on dwarves, perhaps Oghren on an ale run, for all of us who dream of being four feet tall.

I am very excited.

I will admit to be a bit sad that we'll apparently be getting "Warden Shepard", thus extremely limiting our choices at the start of the game (especially after teasing us with Origins) - but that said, I like being Commander Shepard in ME, so if the story is good and the gameplay long, I'll deal with being Hawke.

Just like I have to deal with not being able to create my whole party, which would be my preferred style of play.

I'm excited about DA2! :)

There will always be people complaining around the time of announcement of a sequel to a great game. Just take a look at ME2 witch turned out to be fantastic. "Psst- besides there are less complainers than there seems to be. They just all make threads about the same topics."

I'm concerned that the combat will lack depth this time around, as if it wasn't bad enough already for DAO.

However, what I'm truly excited about, is the story, which spans 10 years, uncovering the tale of the Champion of Kirkwall. Wow, that is a tremendous and profound change in storytelling structure terms, coming from Bioware no less - who was always fairly traditional in their approach!

I am excited. But am I going to feel it in my bones every day? Nah!
I'm not even going to put down my money on a pre-order of the game until post-debut trailer and until more information has been released. I will be disappointed to leave my Dalish Warden behind, but if the game looks as good as the original after I see some actual in-game stuff *cough*story and character creation*cough, cough* I guess I can be converted to DA2...

Seems like the "role-playing" in RPG is changing. Seems like games now have less emphasis on the player creating a character and role playing how they want it, and more the devs create a character and have the player role play how they created it.

I will still buy it, but I am not all hyped up about it. Want to know more.

The main reason I am exited is the fact that its a BioWare creation.
Of course, this means that we can expect a lot of surprises.

To be completely honest, I have no idea how they could possibly make this game better that the first one.

*Minor spoiler*

When I first saw the Leliana scene, I was left with my mouth open, and I was shocked at the beauty of the song itself.

Afterwards, during the Post-Coronation scene, tears actually dropped from my eyes when I was saying goodbye to everyone. Especially Sten, Shale and Leliana.  They were my favorite characters and I am really curious as to how BioWare intends to create others even better.      *Spoiler ended*

I am excited.

If they keep the old-school RPG gameplay and create some good party members, then it's an instant-buy for me.

Absolutely the biggest thing I'm pissed off about. Humans are boring arse holes.

I was smiling all day after the DA2 graphic popped up on my screen. Of course I'm excited. I'm looking forward even more to a fresh round of QQing from people who are waaaaayyyyy toooooo emotionally invested in the game.

"I'm saddened." "I'm worried." For Pete's sake, how do you get out of bed in the morning?!

LOL

I'm stoked. It won't be perfect, but I am sure it will be in my top 2 favorite games of the coming year.

Well I'm excited, but I also seem to be the only person alive who liked ME2 so what do I know?
