What I mean is
(1) choices with plenty of consequences in dialogue
(2) choices with plenty of consequences in actions you take
dragon age origins had dialogue consequences but was mostly linear as in guard can be gotten rid of numerous ways but at the end of the day you need to get rid of the guard to succeed.
For new dragon age I would prefer guard can be gotten rid of or circumvented entirely if your clever - like plansecape choices for example.
So the question is
Will there be more ways to effect the world, outside of dialogue and in dialogue, that will have consequences so as to be less linear?
Thats about as clear as I can make it - its really a question for the develoers
But do you fellow dragon age people also desire this or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Will there be narrative freedom in dragon age2?

I would like to see it as much as possible, but it's still very early and there is no way to tell. Let's just hope someone from bioware stumbles over this thread.

I'd absolutely love to see this, Blakes, but I'm pretty sure that it won't happen. Past history from BioWare's games seems to indicate this. Dragon Age did have some moments where your choices mattered in certain situations, however, there was also a lack of follow through in some areas as well. It's pretty clear in Redcliffe or in The Landsmeet, where you can't really fail regardless of what you do. Some parts were pretty good in this regard, and I agree with you that it would be great to see more of it, but I'm not sure if I see it happening.
I'd love to see more ways to avoid combat. It's not so much that I didn't like the combat in DA:O, it's that there was way too much of it. I think if DA2 uses enemies that aren't mindless monsters like the darkspawn (crossing my fingers for demons), there could be a lot of potential for this. Hopefully, they'll be given realistic motivations, I always thought that the Fade was a far more interesting place than Ferelden.

In DA:O the only time I really felt any consequences for my actions was when I had the templars take control of the circle, and how it affected Connor.
