How about people stop whining?

This is a bigass company that has made countless of godlike games, and once again proved that they are the kings of RPG with the recent DA:O and ME2.
They are gods that make awesome games, and they know what they are doing. We should be thankful for them making such awesome games, not whining over all the things that you expected to see, and prejudging the game like it has already been released. No, we should be happy that they are making another (most likely) awesome game, and we should praise them for it.
That's all.

Also, I would disagree about "kings" of RPGs, that title has changed hands quite a bit ago, as far as I'm concerned, and I'm afraid that next year will show just that again.
Despite what the most rabid fans would say, preemptive expression of concern over several aspects of a game are still VERY valuable data to a game developer. IF the developer is willing to listen to their fans, it can help them avoid some pitfalls and it can give them some insight on what fans want or don't want.
Mind you countless companies PAY statistics professionals to be able to see what their customers want. Bioware should deem themselves lucky that their fans come here to share just that kind of data for free

So who does the title of "king of RPG" go to now?Abriael_CG wrote...
"godlike"? "gods"? Please... There are no "gods" here, nor in any other software house on this planet.

There'll always be a vocal minority of RPG elitists that have nothing better to do than complain. Just look at ME2. However, the majority preferred ME2 over ME1 and BioWare does what the majority wants
And obviously people tend to identify widespread opinions that go against theirs as the "vocal minority" without any kind of data to actually confirm that.
How droll...

So what if people are nervous at the direction the game is going. They have a good reason for it. DA had a wonderful set-up, despite a bug or two, the conversation set-up, approval settings the companions, romances were all wonderful. In Awakenings and probably the Leliana dlc we see what's being taken away. Of course people aren't going to be happy. There are other ways to make a game sequel fun without taking away the awesome parts of the previous game. yet, they still do this. I hope they learn from the mistakes they did with ME2, tbh.

Mass Effect sold more than Mass Effect 2, and it's unlikely ME2 will ever get near to close the gap. This despite the fact that EA made an enormous marketing effort to push the sequel.

Also, Microsoft pushed BioWare to release right before holiday season, while EA let BioWare release during one of the worst times of the year to sell video games.
You still haven't told me who the new king of RPGs is.

Vgchartz is the only source we have, so we'll have to go with that.
You should also know that unless some game-changing additions are released (like the witcher's enhanced edition for instance), the vast majority of a game's sales are made on the first 2-3 months.
@Ecael: lol. The holiday season is good for consoles, it doesn't work the same with lower priced products like games. It's normally too crowded for that. Mass Effect was released in an extremely crowded (and as such unfavorable) period, while Mass Effect 2 didn't have much competition if at all at release.

Mass Effect 2: Game of the Year Edition. Includes all mission DLC released in the year 2010.

That chart says Xbox 360 sales only. I'd like to see others like perhaps the PC sales or the overall sale figures.

Wait. ME2 was an RPG? I surely missed it since there was so much shooting all the time. Are you asking who is the king of RPGs now? It depends on preference. For you: Bioware. For a friend of mine: Bethesda. For me: Obsidian (don't start to ****, I like their games).Xathras1337 wrote...

I don't praise them, I pay them.
And they reward me with removing everything that made DA.O good, and keeping all that is bad. This bigass company is sliding down the slope of fast-paced console-games, and if that is what you want, fine. It is, however, not what I want, so how about you just voice your own opinion, and stop telling others not to voice theirs?
