"The Witcher 2 sports a much more action-focused combat system that tosses aside the need for stances. Sex is being promised as a much less trivial affair, the environments will be bigger, NPCs won't be so predictable, and the dialogue is being presented in a whole new, more Mass Effect-type of way.

Here's the forum for The Witcher 2 if you want to whine there too - don't worry, some people are way ahead of you though:

You seem to think that action is a problem. I'll let you in a secret, it isn't, as long as options and customization is still provided. That's what makes an RPG into an RPG.

The problem with ME2 is that they removed options and customization, and that's the major problem people are fining in this Dragon Age reveal as well.

IIncidentally, they're increasing the customization options tenfolds.

Anyway, I'm off to buy Drakensang 2. i'll get my hardcore RPG fix there
for now, since Bioware doesn't seem too keen on providing that kind of
experience anymore.

You should let me in on the name of the secret account you'll make on the Witcher 2 forums when you start whining about how much the game sacrificed story for action. Because it's not like we've heard any of that for Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age 2 so far...

Nah thanks for the offer, for 20 euros i can take the risk. If it's anything like the first I can say it'll be at the very least worth the price.

Or maybe you should learn German so you can translate the whining about the lack of "RPG" content and story on the Drakensang 2 forums:

Wrong? Ecael proved YOU wrong. I proved you wrong with votes on major sites as well as polls on this one

....
If you think that some random polls done without any kind of method  (you don't even know if the voters actually played both or any of the two games) hold any statistical relevance, you're quite delusive.

Bottomline, you have absolutely no data to say that the ones that prefer core RPG elements in Bioware games are a "Vocal minority". It's a baseless assumption of yours, based on your own personal tastes and nothing else, and the reaction to the reveal of DA2 is just another nail in the coffin of your theory.

It's funny how even with lots of proof, arrogant ME2 haters like you refuse to listen to reason. I'm not gonna waste my breath any more

I wonder if you mean "sacrificed story and options for action", otherwise what you wrote doesn't really make sense.
From what I've seen and read so far, story and options are a major focus of the game. If the combat is more action oriented, I'm not really bothered as long as those elements are mantained. A more action oriented combat in DA:2 is the very least of my concerns.

Or maybe you should learn German so you can translate the whining about the lack of "RPG" content and story on the Drakensang 2 forums:

I prefer to see for myself if you don't mind, and judge with my own brain. Exactly like i'm doing about DA2. I don't need to claim support of the alleged "majority" against the alleged "vocal minority" in order to state my point :D

"proof"? I would encourage you to look up the meaning of "proof", because random polls done on random small demographics hardly constitute any kind of "proof".

I also find it funny as the most rabid fans tend to identify anyone that voices criticism as an "hater" (do I spot a lot of insecurities?). Did i ever write that I HATE mass effect 2 anywhere? I consider it a sizable step back from Mass Effect systems-wise, and I didn't appreciate the fact that Bioware cut a lot of corners by completely eliminating many features that could have been instead polished and improved. This doesn't mean that i "hate" the game. I simply don't consider it a masterpiece.

If you hate every game you don't consider a masterpiece or to which you extend some criticism, you must have a lot of untapped hate boiling inside you, as your style of posting seems to indicate.

Am I the only one who hated the horrendous inventory clutter of Mass Effect and was glad it got booted and replaced by an upgrade system?

I guess my exaggerated fanboy post had an effect against its purpose.

But why all the hate guys? I just don't see why. But I guess its inevtable that people will whine and express their negative or positive opinions all over the forums. Regardless of me or anyone else disliking how people prejudge the game.

Sorry for triggering yet another hateful thread of pointless discussions!

Most people did, except a few RPG elitists that get a hard on from sorting hundreds of useless items

I didn't entirely like it, just because it was implemented in a clumsy way. This doesn't mean that the whole concept of an inventory was to be scrapped. They could have (and in my opinion should have) just polished it and built upon it.

A simple upgrade system is extremely limiting, and in the end you can find something similar, functionality-wise, in any dull shooter on the market.

Despite the previous system wasn't perfect, removing it completely was a further step back.

And again he just randomly decides that "most people" agree with him, while obviously the opposite opinion MUST be shared by "a few elitists".

How droll, really.

Because People aren't prejudging based on assumptions but what we've been told. I still will play it and it'll probably still be fun. But I'll miss things like the origins and being able to choose my race. I'm not really sure on these new changes. And while I might miss things from the first game and wish they were in this one, I will still play it. We'll just have to see if they can make up for what they're taking out.

How about it?
This is a bigass company that has made countless of godlike games, and once again proved that they are the kings of RPG with the recent DA:O and ME2.

They are gods that make awesome games, and they know what they are doing. We should be thankful for them making such awesome games, not whining over all the things that you expected to see, and prejudging the game like it has already been released. No, we should be happy that they are making another (most likely) awesome game, and we should praise them for it.

That's all.

Why don’t you start worshiping them? <_<
Seriously a forum is a place that someone has a right to express their idea/ feeling…  Their ideas and feelings may be looks like whining to you but for others they don’t. It’s all about respect the ideas of others (even if you are big fan of BW)…

I changed that line about 20 minutes ago.

You seem very much bothered if you still can't come up with the "king of RPG".

But, but... he used the phrase constructive criticism (konstruktive Kritik) and he made a list! Why should you ignore him when he is a true fan of Drakensang 1 posting on a forum?

Who do you think you are, BioWare?

If you hate every game you don't consider a masterpiece or to which you extend some criticism, you must have a lot of untapped hate boiling inside you, as your style of posting seems to indicate.

Says the guy who will insist on buying other "real" RPGs because the "mainstream" RPG world doesn't really understand him.

The video game version of the emo kid.

I may be an RPG elitist, but I'd rather sort hundreds of items, than having a clumsy upgrade systems, with no items which does not belong to an RPG.
