Especially all those hats - they made everyone look so stupid.

didn't matter what stats they we're i would always take it off right after putting it on.
like the hat was taunting- "dont even think about it @_@"

also like to add- hope they have their own style. needs to look like it comes from a Dragon Age/Bioware universe. not some generic fantasy....

I liked one outfit in NWN2 and that's the one in my sig.

I can't remember if that's the whole outfit or not. Maybe it's just the hat. If I could get a hat like that, I'm cool.

My opinion only I'd like to say but I really think if you have ever played NWN2 you might be inclined to prefer the choices and styles available there, some of DA stuff is ok but it got boring really quickly for me, now I can't stand the rogue and mage outfits. :(

You're assuming that I haven't played NWN2. I have. I've played it quite a bit. The armor textures for NWN2 are much lower resolution than the armors in DA:O. Not to mention, many of the armors in NWN2 are based specifically for D&D classes. Which are a bit different than DA classes.(Though they're often similar. The subclasses in DA don't get specific armor.)

While I would like new armor. I don't want anything like NWN2, or the modded beauty queen style dresses that you posted above.

I do prefer the DA armor to NWN2 armor. Why? The NWN2 armor is dated, and most of the DA armor is pretty practical looking. That's not to say that I necessarily dislike the NWN2 armor. I'd just rather that they keep with lore friendly well made armor models for DA.

Ahh I really prefer the armours in NWN2 and I use them as an example of the variety(and style) of armours I would like to see, you know there must be at least twenty or thirty different styles of armour available for female players in NWN2 (depending on which class you choose to play as)

I really think Bioware would be well able to design a greater variety of armours for DA2 that protect and also are fun and attractive on. Plus I disagree with you that the NWN2 armours are dated, I think they look fabulous and many of them would fit really well into the world of DA.

However they cannot use those exact designs but I would hope for some new and unique designs similar, if possible. Oh I recently bought and played Leilianas song(wonderful dlc), I was so excited to see a new armour was part of the package but it was exactly the same as the one my character was wearing, just a different colour!! If you want femininity in armour you are kind of missing the point.

Mage robes and maybe the lighter rogue outfits yeah i can see your point but armour is for one thing and one thing only- keeping your insides on the inside.

Practical's good, but it doesn't have to be the same outfit. All the leather armours are exactly the same, leaving my rogues looking very boring. I have about 6 pairs of jeans. I don't have the same pair of jeans 6 times.

This.

Mage hats are number one on my list for redesign, followed closely by mage robes and light and medium armours.

Jeez, yes, mage hats. They are truly absurd. I feel like something from Monty Python every time I play a mage. Which is fine, as long as what's happening is supposed to be funny.

Okay I was mostly thinking of rogues and mages but there are plenty of examples of metals made for fighters in NWN2 that are lighter and also nicer looking. Remember ladies need lighter armours!

These are lighter and very protective (not my favs tho)

me too.. but I'm biased-playing my main as a mage.
i thought the rouges needed more identity. like shadowy assassins in capes/mask(not exactly- sort of both) or more leather/medium armor if it we're a ranger.

really hope they work on fabrics/texture. moving/animating them. and making things look like they have texture/depth, not-flat jewels or flat-layered belts.

Anyways i'm just worried. we really need to wait to see the changes they've made, in terms of art style/graphics....

That's just plain wrong. If you think armour makers throughout history didn't consider the look of the armour they were crafting you need to think again. Check out the armours on this site for example. Obviously not everyone would be able to afford such extravagant armour but when the storyline makes you the head of the Grey Wardens and a close associate of the king it's rather unlikely you'd be walking around in the same rags you had when you started the adventure.

Not caring about how your character looks doesn't make you cool or true to history. Looks have been important since the dawn of time.

I don't see the problem with wanting better looking gear. The stuff in DA:O was dull, generic and I think there were no more than two or three different looking sets of leather armour in the entire game. That needs to be improved!

Hell yes. Any animal that can be fashioned into a hat and put on my head, in game people, in a game, Is fine with me. I don't want to get e-mails condemning me to death because I want to wear animals in a video game.

That's exactly my point Hkling, thank you! Image IPB

It's actually a DAO consept art. Sad that it never made it into the final product Image IPB

Aw Mav. Don't make me blush.

I've always been into Chainmail Bikinis. Something I always want in any game. I might be a girl but I don't mind running around in that. Hell, I had so many mods for Morrowind that I ran around in two piece lingerie sets.

If you look closely, you'll realize this is very much the apprentice/mage robe as they are currently in the game, with slightly different texture on it and some minor details adjusted. So drooling over it while at the same time complaining the DA designs aren't good enough.... well Image IPB

What?? Oh I don't believe it!! That's a shame Bioware, because that outfit rocks!

@TMPOO74

To me that looks nothing like the mage dresses available to wear! The shoulders are bare, there are beautiful long sleeves and the length is different too. The only thing similar is that they are both dresses. (YOU ARE KIDDING ME ..RIGHT?)

I really hope we don't see more midriff baring styles in DA. When I started my Dalish Elf, I was muttering about how I should have just painted a target on my midriff and be done with it. We really don't need to have half our our upper torso bared too. We're trying to stay alive. Leave the unrealistic chainkinis to the modders.

With limited resources, I don't mind the different reskins, but different colours would have been nice. I would have killed for some nice, white leathers in DA:O.

And no more mutated pineapple hats, please.

Oh yeah, I so agree with you there! I really thought that was horrible, naked skinny tummies ready to be shot at..I would have loved a white leather outfit too. The mod of mord sith armour was white but didnt show in my game so well :(

Nope, not kidding. check the apprentice robes as they are in game (the leftmost pic)

Image IPB

basically remove the shoulder straps and replace translucent part on the shoulders with fully transparent "skin", change the texture of the blue part and make the bottom edge rounded, shorten the middle part of the belt and adjust the details of the belt straps. retexture bottom part to create illusion of folds. Call it a day.

(long sleeves look nice in cover art but look much worse in game where they can't be animated properly and clip into the character, so that's why you'll see things get somewhat different from pretty pictures)

Armor shouldn't have to look good. Its supposed to stop you from dying, not attract attention to yourself because, "Wow, look at her armor, its so pretty. NOW SHE DIES!"

But I still dont see it, the cleavage is wrong even..but it just goes to show, make a few changes to a beautiful dress and it can be a lot less...but you know I still prefer the top one.
I get what you mean about the sleeves though, they are hard to animate, I do understand that, they have the same trouble with long hair too, don't they?
