I suspect that's why there isn't longer hair styles as options to pick from, yes.Cell1e wrote...
I get what you mean about the sleeves though, they are hard to animate, I do understand that, they have the same trouble with long hair too, don't they?
PLEASE, PLEASE NEW AND BETTER FASHIONS!!

I'd definitely go for seeing a bit more variety, especially on the rogue and mage armors. I can see how a few more color options and a few choices that are a bit more feminine would be a great addition.
I'm not worried about masculine/feminine too much, but I'd like there to be a place where we can mildly customise our armour. You know, shell out a few gold for new colours, maybe a simple design applied to it (like how we had heraldry applied to shields in DA:A).

Armor shouldn't have to look good. Its supposed to stop you from dying, not attract attention to yourself because, "Wow, look at her armor, its so pretty. NOW SHE DIES!"
But you have to realise that for many players it does matter how they look in game. Look at the amount of armour and clothes mods out there. Many many people put in hours and hours of modding time and effort to make their characters look better so they can enjoy their gaming experience more.
I am one of those people who hasnt learnt how to mod but I have used many many mods to enhance my gaming life experiences. I think to many many people; how armour looks is extremely important.

Yes, but there's giving more options, and there's pandering. After a certain point, 'pretty' armour with no real functional value (hello, Dalish elf woman armour) becomes pandering, not to mention immersion breaking. For the basics, functional armour with some nice touches (gilding, heraldic devices, etc) > looking good and easy to kill.

You are putting too much enthusiasm in an optional fun to have feature.
But then, there are people who customize Shepard's armor each time before landing on a planet to match the surroundings in color...

Well I have read the thread until it turned into a chainmail bikini and lingerie heroine discussion.
Dragon Age and Mass Effect 1 had it right with the practical above aesthetic approach towards gear, and I don't want it to change.
The NWN2 comparison is understandable. I admit the game had very few armour models compared to other games, but it's all fine by me.

I hope none of it looks like what the OP posted(no offense!). I hated the armor in NWN2 even more than DAO... DAO lacked variety, but what it had looked good. NWN2 was the opposite -- plenty of different looks, none of which were appealing.

Exactly. At a certain point I just stopped looking at the armor themselves and just slapped them on my character for stats. They weren't that great looking at all.
I want Bioware to stick to their vision. I've talked about their horrible hairstyles before but I can live with even that because, modders did a great job with creating hairstyles I liked.

The amount of armor and clothing mods drops drastically when you take out the fetish gear, "giant bewbs omg!" stuff, lingerie, extremely basic recolors, and stuff based on other games.
Female-specific armor especially. Take those out you get... heck the Pious armor is the only one I can think of.
Honestly, I don't mean to be rude but I don't understand this desire people have to make the armor in a game look like the armor in another game. If you like that game's style so much more then just play it instead.
However I do agree that some variety would be nice as long as it's realistic and functional. Since DA2 is going to take us away from Ferelden then it seems realistic for different lands to have different crafting styles. Some Orlesian armor, Antivan Armor, Rivain armor etc. We already had a difference in robes based on their source (Chasind vs. Circle) so it doesn't seem too strange that other armors could have similar difference.
Nothing crazy like every material has its own mesh. Maybe even just restrict the different meshes to unique armors.

To be fair, the bodies in Dragon Age without Armour on looks pretty bad, Same head on different bodies. There is a "natural bodies" mod on nexus website that makes them look abit less like a decapitated head put on another body.
