That or a pre-made party that you can't switch out.

The irony is that a system like that would allow for much more squad/party interaction, but everyone will revert to whining about fewer characters anyway.marspiter2 wrote...
DA2 is also going to have fewer party member slots then DA:O.

Thats also a very good possibility.ThomasAndrew wrote...
What I believe is that you won't be able to directly control your party members or change their equipment. There will also be no tactics system.

And I'll bet that there'll be more companions than there were in DA:O. I think they'll be less fleshed out and customizable, but I think the companion list will be increased since the story takes place across a decade. I wouldn't mind if they lowered the numbers though, so long as they kept those characters well fleshed out, with deeper and more meaningful interactions than a two second romance scene and one loyalty quest.
Number of companions and party slots are different. You might meet serveral companions over 10 years. However I'm betting bioware is going to reduce party size or during certain time frames you will be stuck with a certain designed party.

I guess if the story happens over a decade, it would make sense for there to be more companions than in Origins. I'm okay with this. I was okay with ME2's style. Okay it kind of sacrificed depth for breadth to a certain extent, but come on - Mordin has to rate as a classic character across the trilogy, regardless of how much 'deeper' Ash or Kaiden were. x

More companions, but less companions available at any given time would make sense story-wise. I can't see 12 people sticking with the same dude for 10 years unless there's something along the lines of a demonic pact involved.
it'll be sad to see favorite companions go over the years, but getting new ones will be cool as well. i missed the old origins companions, but i liked finding the new ones in awakening.

So if not old ME2, then what are you basing this on? Just the "omfg bioware failz" instinct a lot of you have going on? I mean, it may very well be true, but I don't see how on earth anyone could come to any sort of conclusion regarding this with the, like, two sentences of information we have so far.
