...that in an interview at some point around Awakening's release, about the future of Dragon Age, a Bioware person said "Dragon Age players should hang onto their saves."

That said, I wouldn't go freaking out that you're not playing the Warden in DA2. DA2 is a new game. For all we know, we may get some more to the DA:O story to finish things up at some point.

And while I'm here, DA:O wasn't built to support a multiple game story, much like the original Mass Effect. By the end of the game, you're probably at or near max level.

Ultimately, to make it work over multiple stories with the same character, we probably shouldn't have hit the maximum level in DA:O. It just makes it difficult on Bioware to keep it going, without getting silly.

Take a look at the Baldur's Gate games for a moment. Max level in D&D 2nd edition, based off just the PHB, was 20. You did not hit level 20 in Baldur's Gate. Chances are you'd hit 6-8 or so, depending on class. But that still gave Bioware room to continue to tell that epic, before things got silly.

At any rate, yeah, it'd be awesome to continue the Warden, but without a ME2 style reboot of the character, it'd be rather difficult.

So here's hoping DA2 starts some big epic like BG did. Or perhaps it'll just be one giant game, and then off to a new character for DA3.

Edit: Oh and to those of you that believe it MUST follow the blight the Warden was in...it really doesn't. There's no video game law that says the next game in the series MUST be a sequel. It could be a later blight, or the previous one. The one in Origins never got a chance to start, either. ;)
