I don't know if this ever bothered anyone, but finally we see characters with some muscle. It has bothered since the dawn of RPGs that a warrior is as thin as a mage. To me it should be:

Mage: Thin

Rogue: Wiry and fit

Warrior: Muscular

I like what I can see of the Darkspawn's armour. It looks tatty, and badly put together, which is good.



I dont get how a brainwashed and dying slave could create a masterpiece like the Alpha's armour.

How are they? And what is Fable's style anyway? It  looked realistic enough to me (better even, because it had colour), besides the fairly large hands and feet (Which DA:O had anyway.)

Art style looks fantastic. Once the graphics are more optimized this game is going to look great. It's definitely more "stylized," which I normally hate. However I like how they are doing it. Look at the darkspawn arms and armor for instance, definitely spikey and "evil" looking. Some of the shapes/weapons are a bit exaggerated, but not over the top. For first screenshots they look great and I can't wait to see how it turns out.



They said earlier that it will be told sort of through a narrator, talking about hawke in the past. And this graphic style makes me kind of think of an idealized story told for generations about a great hero, how its just a bit larger than life. I love it.

I'm going with "It's an ALPHA screenshot" so we shouldn't expect mass effect 2 on full hd 1080p shots in the next 5 minutes ^^

Looks pretty bad - technically, at least, but given it's in its early stages that's of no concern.



Conceptually it's pretty awesome. Hawke looks pretty slick and it's good to see the Darkspawn getting an upgrade. Hope there's more variety to Darkspawn this time, though. Maybe they'll follow a God of War 3 route and randomize the bits of armor?

I just had a late-night meal(you know, near midnight, way after dinner), so I'm gonna lay down and watch people squirm and judge two incredibly small pics that look like they came from the alpha build and claim the game has horrible graphics because it MUST look this way at release.

i think it looks ok. not digging pointy armor on darkspawn though- but it does give them an automatic visual identity. its very bright, i hope there's some sort of weather system or contrast in lighting/shadow.(which made ME stand out more so)

need more pictures though. (edit: for some strange reason that image of hawke reminds me of dynasty warriors  LOL oh weird)

Again... it seems we will never get something like realistic cloaks or robes from bioware. It's textures painted on a solid model again. Well you can't actually see it on these screenshots but the overall direction is there, assuming this isn't a fake or some early production stage.

Keep in mind lighting probably isn't done yet. Those look to be very early shots.

On the right it looks like an obvious disciple, and on the left it looks like the ogre has a more defined face as well (similar to how disciples have more human-like faces in comparison to their ordinary counterparts), so not only do we have sentient ogres, but this also makes Awakening canon!

Also, people whining about the background need to stop. It's in the beginning stages of development, get over it.

so you dont think they may have just used a 2h sword for these images for no real reason ? i doubt they would include spears in the first mentions of the game and then have no mention of it again...but that doesn't mean they're going to be in every screen.

This screenshot is probably early development. Heck i hope the final version will be as detailed as FFXIV or Two words 2 which looks awesome for an RPG game.

I don't think I'm jumping to conclusions.

And really, all Awakening was was backstory for the Disciples. They told us how they came into being, what they do, what they're like, and the internal struggles that they face. It's probably not too much to assume that ogres can awaken as well (and gain facial traits similar to their hurlock bretheren), that the Mother and the Architect will at least get some kind of mention by the disciples (I.E. "I heard of a struggle in Ameranthine, but some meddling Warden managed to stop whatever had occured"), and MAYBE we might see the children (probably not likely, but still very possible).
