Sounds good, still sad about not being able to pick a different race, but at least you can still customize your character.

Ten year period? Never even knew that.

I'm glad that BioWare has decided to shelve the whole "defeat a great evil" thing for this game. That concept was getting quite old...

so dwarves and elves can't be champions in the free marches? i recall things working differently in redcliffe. and is the concept art for hawke really appropriate? he sounds like a coward and a deserter to me, not a duncan-on-steroids badass.

Wauw!

So amazing. Now, maybe you'll tell me the end of the characters I looked forward to continue? They lived happily ever after, before vanishing into the Deep Roads?

This is seriously going from bad to worse.

MME = Medieval Mass Effect.

As long as I can change everything about how he looks, I'll be happy. I've never liked the "base" Shepard either.

Not sure why these "base" characters cant be shown wearing a helmet to hide what they look like. One of the greatest aspects of playing a Bioware RPG is playing a role of YOUR choosing.

Well, remember this, in Dragon Age: Origins you created your main char and you could still play with the other characters to set out strategies and whatnot.

Why do you think you won't be able to do it in DA II?

I'm telling you all right now:

Hawke is the kid from the bridge in Lothering.

Get it??? Hawke... IS THE BRIDGE.... to DA2.

Yes, I will sign your breasts.

Many good things, but I hate the fact that it will be voiced and all like in ME.

Way to sell out to the consoles Bioware.

You're off the buy list.

I'm thinking Hawke was probably rather young when he fled Lothering. Could be wrong - but I still don't see anything cowardly about an unskilled, armourless refugee fleeing from the darkspawn horde. Maybe he becomes heroic later...over a ten year period...as suggested by the press release. :P

I love it. BioWare really is learning from DA:O, and going for a deeper, more involving gaming experience.

That is my impression so far, and I for one trust BioWare to make this an epic game.

Great article. The fact that Hawke was tied to an event from the first game provides a strong connection, and helps to get an eye on what Bioware is doing with the series. I'm getting excited and I don't see anything to indicate this will be other than traditional Bioware RPG.

That's the first possible person from Lothering I thought about too... the orphan whose mother was killed, by the bridge right ? And yeah he would be the bridge from DA:O to DA2 as he actully met the Grey Warden etc. A pretty cool idea, though it is only speculations so far.

Well,
If u are judging DA2, already with that very few information we have, i guess u must be the jerk not BioWare.
They just improving the game, not ruining it.
Whats wrong with u ppl?

*Big grin*

Ah, that little red haired boy was the first to come to mind. Lol Rinpoche. But I also imagine Hawke could've been offstage at that point, already gone.

Gawd I love this game.

the site says "instead of fighting the darkspawn" so i'm assuming he was capable enough. sounds yellow to me.

Hey, if done well, my initial doubts seem to be slowly being quelled. Yes the character is being voiced: doesn't that add to the experience instead of detracting from it. If there are still 4-5 options for everything it makes it have even more options because all the dialogue will be different. I also have a feeling the dialogue will be handled better than Mass Effect, that it will say along the lines of what you pick but not exactly (not something completely different). Having the character come from Lothering is tying the two games together, while being able to avoid all the later major decisions of your character for Hawke will not know. Free Marches: YES! The Battle of Kirkwall will be a major thing at the end of the game, I wouldn't have though they'd announce that yet but oh well. Come on Dragon Age II, but first some more DLC for my original game :)

What I am reading is presentation... As long as it has the heart of Dragon Age... I'll be more then happy. And it would be awesome if you talked to Hawke in Lothering.
