Well, I'll be interested to see how Hawke drives the story. It's sounding like a pick-a-path adventure so far.
In what way?

I myself bought the game for that very reason after being disappointed with the ever changing NWN story lines. I am disappointed I will be unable to upload my characters and continue anything close to there adventures, romances, and friendships but I will still buy this game because it will still be good (I hope) and I will continue to wait and see if Bioware does develop something of a continuing storyline (ie. the search for morrigan etc. etc.) in which we can upload previous characters. I did not purchase ME or ME2 etc. because I dont really like space games so I cant compare them to DA2 but a number of people weren't thrilled with the ME development swo I will note that when playing DA2 and see if there is merit to that complaint also. Another reason I will likely buy this game even though its not what I want is I still buy tickets to BROWNS games every year since the late sixties looking for that continuation of greatness from the early days.

1) It's already been done.
2) In DA:O everyone called us Warden. This time around we're called Hawke because we need to be called something, and that implies that nobody's going to be calling us Warden anymore.

it would be interesting to play the game from a "different perspective" this time...
maybe there will be Wardens in the game as NPCs.....or as a companion.......but Hawke should be a regular person charting his/her own destiny.
plus....don't Wardens die after a certain # of yours? Can't remember the exact time....but would that conflict with this story taking place over a decade?

Fair enough, but then he's always had the name Shepard. It worked in the first game, so they kept using it. Your name in DA:O was invariably Warden, so the only reason you'd need a new one would be if you couldn't keep the old anymore.

Anyway, I'm stoked. Personally I didn't see much difference between races in the first game, so the human-only aspect doesn't really bother me. I'm sure Bioware did this for good reason, just you watch.

so dwarves and elves can't be champions in the free marches? i recall things working differently in redcliffe. and is the concept art for hawke really appropriate? he sounds like a coward and a deserter to me, not a duncan-on-steroids badass.
How does he sound like a deserter to you? Doesn't that only count if they are in the militia/military/army/grey wardens and they ditch? This hawke sounds like he/she was just a regular person living in lothering.

So amazing. Now, maybe you'll tell me the end of the characters I looked forward to continue? They lived happily ever after, before vanishing into the Deep Roads?
This is seriously going from bad to worse.
MME = Medieval Mass Effect.
If you don't like the game, (or where you "think" it's going to end up) DON'T PLAY IT, FRITZ.

I love it. BioWare really is learning from DA:O, and going for a deeper, more involving gaming experience.
That is my impression so far, and I for one trust BioWare to make this an epic game.
Exactly, they are telling a different story within the same universe. It's not origins anymore, People need to realize this.

Thank you, Bioware. Making the most successful game of yours into Fantasy Mass Effect is a very wise decision.
Ah, btw will Jennifer Hale voice female Hawke? I think, we should expect romances with dwarves, elves, and a darkspawn as a henchman?
Really, your really saying that?
Nice, thanks. you don't have to play the game.
