I'm actually quite happy that he ran... If Hawker is going to have some kind of pre-set personality, i want it to be a sensible one, not wishy washy "Let's save the world!" one.
Why would he have fought the Blight? Plenty of jobs elsewhere.
abandoning your home and a chantry full of women and children is sensible? sounds more like cowardice. i don't want to play a coward.
Well I do! Cowards are interesting. Thick headed morons who try to save the world because its good and just are boring.

Ah, btw will Jennifer Hale voice female Hawke? I think, we should expect romances with dwarves, elves, and a darkspawn as a henchman?

Yeah why would he become Champion of Kirkwall and not just keep running? Cowards don't make great heroes.

First point, I'm sure, people have already expressed their disapproval over.
Hawke as human is stupid. There's no reason that Hawke, story-wise, couldn't be an elf or a dwarf--either of those races could have been present in Lothering, and, indeed, elves definitely were. It's merely an excuse to be able to do, well, the first point. So double suck.
The third point is fairly neutral. It confirms that the Blight the main character escaped was, indeed, the fifth. Since it takes place 'further north', we probably won't actually be dealing with much darkspawn, since their massive war parties didn't make it past Orlais.
Yay! Well, we already know that we'll be forced into being some sort of savior of Kirkwall. Blech. Free Marches I'm fairly blah on. I suppose BioWare's saving Orlais or the Anderfells for the next Blight.
The narrative focusing on Hawke could be either good or bad. As long as they stay as far away from it being another Shepard...
Still, it's a bit early. I dunno. Guess we'll see if its gameplay is any interesting.

I'm just super disappointed that my guy from DAO won't be the main character. I've grown rather attached to him, so I can only hope that he shows up in some other way.

Maybe he ran because he only cares about his skin, and not the lives of others? If thats how it is, I dont see him becoming a champion that out of the question.
And anyway, Cowards can make good heroes, and they can make some awesome villains.

I don't mind if they made it for you to choose if your character is a coward or couraged, hero or villain. But if you get such a thing predefined it sucks. In DA:O your hero could be either, it was your choice.

Discretion is the better part of valor. No reason to stay behind and die in a hopeless battle. A wise decision not a cowardly act.

Mass Effect felt like i was watching it.
Dragon Age felt like i was living it.
Ruin our fantasy Bioware.
Im not buying this. I expected so much from Dragon age 2 and for it all to be took away. Jerks
Well,
If u are judging DA2, already with that very few information we have, i guess u must be the jerk not BioWare.
They just improving the game, not ruining it.
Whats wrong with u ppl?
And yes I am judging DA2 already because I hat everything about it so far even the leaked screen shots look terrible.
Ok, thanks for playing...bye!

Exactly. But, then again, I for instance love Dragon Age but hate ME and consider ME utter garbage. It was mentioned on this forums many times that ME and DAO created by different teams.UberDuber wrote...

We still don't know how old Hawke was when he fled. He could have been a kid. Are you going to to call out a 10 year old for being a "coward" if he ran from the big scary monsters that were killing all the adults?

I guess everyone has an opinion. I almost always play as human, so no biggie here. I could care less about that option. And, I rather liked ME1 and ME2. My Shep rules!

Don´t confuse being brave with being stupid. Fighting a lost battle with nothing to win is not brave.
