I also, have to agree that this game is sounding much like Fable in some ways. not sure how i feel about that, but like all BW games the story is going to be what makes this game so amazing. I played DAO on the 360, then picked it up for my PC just to see the different interfaces.
For the ppl who are complaining about the fact they cant play their old DAO chars, and want to know what happened to them, all i have to say is play thru DAO Awakening, it tells you what happens to ur char.
I do have to admit that i am a bit muffled about the fact we cant choose race (for replay scenarios) but i mostly play human so not a big deal, as for the VO it doesnt really bother me all that much either...i think it will add some depth to our characters. (not having VO in DAO was really the only complaint i had).
Regardless the point remains that we still know very little about the game, and for ppl to prejudge is rather foolish, wait until you have ALL the facts before making a judgement. As for me, Ive been sold since I saw the teaser card inside of DAO Awakening.
Cant hardly wait for this game Bioware...

I hope that "What exactly Hawke does to earn the honorary title of Champion, however, is up to you." doesnt mean that the goal of the game is to be the champion of Kirkwall. I'd rather see different "origins" to become the champion.
I was tinking that the statement "What exactly Hawke does to earn the honorary title of Champion, however,
is up to you." implied that the Kirkwall scenario will be an "Origins" story of sorts because of the phrasing "is up to you".
just something to ponder...

Why Hawke? I keep on thinking of Ethan Hawke in training day or in that movie with Julie Delpy as they walk around Paris and talk about everything for 2 hours. Darn Ethan Hawke, ruining character names for me.
i kant believe i dind't think of this sooner!!!
KoToR' had a "Hawke" in it as well. It was called the "Ebon Hawke"!!

It's more than clear.. The only link to the first game is that Hawke survived to the blight
But the story won't be any major connection to the first game, Morrigan's child included.
As long as Orlais, Antiva & other places will have still to wait for further chapters...
<_< you are a moron.
Wait what? how is this guy a moron...
He has no proof that the blight is the only connection. All he has is that he was a survior yet this moron thinks that's the only connection and says nothing else from DAO will play a part in DA2 because of little info.

There were lot of elves refugees. One familly even thank you for taking care of the bandit at the entrance of Lothering because they lost everything there.theorin wrote...
Its disappointing that you can only be a human i loved playing as an elf but there wernt any elves in lothering so it would be studip if you could play as an elf or dwarf.

only human? oh well, but if only "men" is playable then i don't be happy, at least i want "woman" too. because i don't like to play "men" character. (well im rl woman, then i prefer play ingame woman too)
No worries you can play as a man or a woman.

If you can play as a male or female -- as a Mage, Warrior or Rogue then DA2 is repayable 6 times @ perhaps approximately $8.33 per game. (At this time I don't know how much the game will actually cost.)

I'm thinking Hawke was probably rather young when he fled Lothering. Could be wrong - but I still don't see anything cowardly about an unskilled, armourless refugee fleeing from the darkspawn horde. Maybe he becomes heroic later...over a ten year period...as suggested by the press release.
i so agree
I dont have to play an elf or dwarf just solong as you have them in your party to talk 2 and romance and so on

---EDIT---
Actually I do understand this, it's set for a 2011 release. By creating a story and toon for you they eliminate alot of work that would be needed if they did a DA:O approach to characters.

I dont quite understand this, why dont we just jump in the future and play as the child in Morrigan's womb. If you did not impregnate that **** just create a new char... I dont get this.

Not to mentions the ability to identify with your character or feel like you've actually created or done anything aside from mashing a few buttons during the combat sequences of a mildly interactive movie.

What's next? Crow? Eagle? Pigeon?
Why can't they just give protagonists normal names?
Normal names can be gender neutral too, Bioware...

Well, why should they follow that specific plotline? Obviously there are other stories to tell in Thedas.

I will point out that Revan was a Sith Lord, and they tend to have meaningful names.
Hawke is a real life English surname, used as a surname for the PC in DA2.
