You can't argue against Hawke being voiced. One of the worst parts of DA:O is that your character mindless and emotionless. All we need to hope for is what we want him/her to say to actually say it. Is it to much to ask to just copy and paste the script into the dialog choice?
Your character is only as mindless and emotionless as you are.

See the problem is, Hawke is becoming a character of his own. He is no longer OUR character, He's Bioware's character that we're being allowed to play as. It all becomes meaningless. Look at the people talking about his fleeing Lothering, they shouldn't be doing that. Hawke has become a character independent of the player.
Nicely done and the most sane description of the single most annoying thing with DA2.

Right- I don't get it. In many interviews Zeschuk and Muzyka talk about how they want a diverse portfolio of games for BioWare and how its an important difference how DA is a 1st person narrative while ME is 3rd person. Apparently it doesn't matter that much any more...

Agreed also hopefully it wont be in 3D.Thomas9321 wrote...
Hooray now I can watch someone else interact with the world just like in Mass Effect! I can watch some American voice actor totally determine the way my character interacts with the world! Honestly, does anybody give a toss about a more cinematic game experience?
DAO was 3D

If anything the demon baby will be a squadmate, NPC or the villian.

Edit: I may buy this, most likely after at least the initial price drop. Voiced protagonist is just not as immersive. But it is what it is.

The shadow on the far left of Hawke on the main page looks like a small kid.
Are they going to rip off Wild Flower from Jade Empire?

I am more inclined to say that Hawke is the ret... err, ok, let's use a better term... the slow-getting bandit when you first enter Lothering.
You mean I shouldn't have killed him?

Award winning DAO and then they change it... maybe it was award winning for a reason? I was looking forward to DA2 but from what I've read on the Game Informer article, it's just going to be a complete letdown for me and others that were impressed by the original game. Guess I'll just be looking forward to Fable III now... Good luck, Bioware!<_<

- "Dragon Age II is not about killing an ancient evil or about quelling another blight...all in service to answering the larger question: Who is the Champion of Kirkwall?"
It's more than clear.. The only link to the first game is that Hawke survived to the blight
But the story won't be any major connection to the first game, Morrigan's child included.
As long as Orlais, Antiva & other places will have still to wait for further chapters...

I disagree with that. Joshua shepard is my character and I was close to him and got more immerse in him then any of my wardens or other characters. You guys are blowing this out of the water.

All in all, what we need is more information before we all go making assumptions about the game and the characters. I think it's cool Bioware is trying something a bit different. If it had been the exact same game over again people would be complaining about that too. Given what info we have to work with, we really shouldn't be jumping to conclusions.
