You have the right to use my stuff yes , but nowhere does it say to edit it ... and if you do , just ask me , is it that much to do ?

and yes , perhaps we should stop

"create derivative works from" means he does have the right to edit it. From wikipedia: "A derivative work pertaining to copyright law, is an expressive creation that includes major, copyright-protected elements of an original, previously created first work." In the context of mods, that is basically going to mean editing a pre-existing mod in some form or other.

I'm not coming into any side on this (though it's not hard to figure my opinion based on my posted mods), I just want to clarify that bit and point out that it is, indeed, in the EA legal-speak.

EDIT: Just to clarify, this argument seems to be couched in the idea of what common courtesy in the DAO *should* be. It's not really about the legal rights on your content after posting something to the social site -- I think we can all agree that, reading the EA EULA on the matter, you basically have none. The argument is, as a community, what are the standards we expect from one another regarding attribution, permission, and re-use. In other words, what constitutes common courtesy and being a "good neighbor"? Obviously there's some disagreement about that at the moment...

EDIT2: Dang it, thought I was in the other thread...

It might be a good idea to let this one sink down. Time for a new and clean topic, without all of this nonsene then? :)
