Even still, yes, I'd like an option to mute the VO.

isn't this already an option by turning voice volume all the way down and then turning subtitles on?
Not for people who wish to, you know, hear the music, the combat, or their party.

Wouldn't that turn off all voices, though?
Should be simple enough to have a PC voice on/off toggle. Even if all that happened was that you'd see your character speaking and emoting, but just wouldn't hear them, it'd be a nice option for those who want to imagine what their voice should be like.

Voice volume affects music and combat?

*claps* Here's a cookie. Still forces us to turn down all other voices.

Easy to mod if they give us a toolset, maybe.AlanC9 wrote...
Easy enough to mod, surely. Just replace the PC sound files with blanks.
Given the mood here now, I suspect some enterprising modder will fix this one shortly after release if BioWare doesn't do it for us.

The problem with this being fully-voiced is that it it's impossible to make absolutely everyone happy, which would lend itself to supporting your idea of an option to mute the PC voice. Again, that working depends on if you know what you're saying or if you just select a "type" of response (and I hope we can see it).

Its being built I believe with the same engine but given that we haven't gotten a toolset update for Awakening, I'm not so sure they'll bother with DA2...

It would allow me to invent the conversation myself, just like old-fashioned text-parser dialogue in CRPGs from the 1980s (or, frankly, the Elder Scrolls games, which do much the same thing and no one seems to mind).Yobani_P wrote...
I think da 2 texts in the dialogs will be replaced by a single word or short phrase that represents the options that you can choose in the conversation, like mass effect's saga,so disabling the voice of your character you possibly lose the sense of the conversation
And, we'd still see the subtitles (really, does anyone play these games with the subtitles turned off, even with the voice-over?)

I kinda presumed that DA2 would have one, yeah.
