Personally I think the censorship laws in the USA are BS.  Cutting off heads is ok for 13 year olds but a nice set of bewbs is not.

However, I can't change those silly radical right wing pro war, anti love laws.

However I could vote w/ my wallet if EA manned up and released a TEEN DA2 for the kids and a MA/21+ DA2 for us adults.

Every good TV show or movie I watch has adult nudity, True Blood, Deadwood, Rome, Spartacus, Carnivale, Party Down, Sopranos etc...

Why can't videogames also be for adults?  If they want to sell to teans, just have a censored version for the kids like they have Sopranos on A&E w/ no bewbs for PG-13

Yeah because ratings really stop minors playing 18+ games.

Just buy the pc version and wait for mods if you're into that sort of thing.

There was a lot of talk on the forums for ME2 about people wanting different settings for age. Its possible but it means recording alternate lines a bunch of times adding to the cost and diskspace allowances. I myself thought the game quite mature in tone already. We have sex, violence and occasionaly low-level swears.

Granted the knickers-on sexy times were just unintentionally funny.

Because two separate copies of a game should be released to accommodate boobs.

This. Nude mods are an utter joke. I play a PC so if I'm playing and want porn it's just an alt+tab away.

Also, you could easily argue about whether or not the flopping phaluses in Spartacus actually added anything to the show.

I think Australia has even stricter laws on games than the US.

Because it's so much easier for the devs to put that much time and effort into coding two different retail versions of the same game ^_^  They wouldn't just have to patch over the adult content for the teen version--they'd have to recode the thing because patches like that are so easily removed.  Also see: the Sims, where the first fan patches are always nudity ones.

It's not a bad idea in a perfect world, but in a perfect world, the censorship wouldn't exist.  So it's something we have to live with, and I don't think it's all that terrible.  Fanfiction and fanart has a way of usually being far more risque than the game :innocent:

Well, there's nothing in terms of US law stopping them from releasing a a more adult version of the game (along the lines of Sopranos, for example...something like porn would be legal but would probably hurt sales and alienate many players). I guess they're just afraid of lost sales and controversy. Granted, I don't think it would really hurt them.  I would guess Dragon Age's audience is for the most part over 20. But hopefully EA has more understanding of that than we do. Then again, people can be surprisingly incompetent--so you never know.

They would have to release different versions of the game, meaning more cost. Remember the big incident with hidden porn content in GTA? That game got rerated to AO because of that and they had to rerelease the game minus hidden content to get the rating back down.

You're just complaining because you never see boobs in real life like the rest of us.... stop playing dragon age for an hour or two and just go look at porn or get a girlfriend. i wouldn't care if they put nudity in dragon age, but it seriously sounds like your desperate

Wow, OP can you let us know what you've been smoking? Where has the "radical right-wing" of America passed laws stopping game companies from making AO games? Please, I'd really like to know.

There will be if EA thinks such a thing would be profiteable.

But the games are already classified as M yes? So there already is an Adult's Only version.

Doesn't have to be AO (which to my understanding basically means it's porn), but I would prefer it if BW would handle their love/sex scenes in their M-rated games a little more...m-rated. Most sex-scenes done by BW so far got that teenie-romance-pg12-drama vibe to them.

I am an adult. I can handle boobs and nakedness.

The Starz originals show on cable.  It starts off kinda bad, but the story and writing get MUCH better 4 episodes in.

It's a "poor man's" HBO ROme.  Or a "rich man's Xena" depending on how you look at it.

I hated the first episode, but enjoyed the show in the end.  The gore is still way over the top, actually reminds me of DAO gore

There is nothing "porn" about bewbs.  The most respected works of art throughout history were of the female form.   Hating bewbs is a radical religious thing introduced in the past few hundred years.

The flopping phalluses added authenticity to the setting the show was attempting to portray. The Romans were widely know for their debauchery.

Just like how nudity would have added authenticity to the world of Dragon Age. Morrigan actually dressed up for the sex scene.

Yes the hidden content that was SEX IN UNDERWEAR and absurdly blurred out pixelated bewbs.  The fact that joke scene earned AO rating is just ridiculous.

A game where you can cut the heads off hookers,  the ratings board freaked over some underwear dry humping.

So I guess you never watch HBO or stars or R Rated movies?  Drop the insults kid, I have a girlfriend.   It's not that I am desperate to see bewbs, it's that when you look at adult fiction like Sopranos or HBO ROME it's part of the story, it's normal.

DAO has UNDERWEAR SEX!  It's distractingly silly

As far as costs for the 2 versions, here is an idea.  Partner w/ HBO, and give them exclusive Dragon Age MA rated anime shorts.
