No, my understanding of the situation is quite different. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo will not LICENSE any Adult rated game for their system. And without the license, no company can publish it. EA, or anyone else, can't do jack without the legal permit to make the game in the first place.

Edit: This should help clarify....see article here. Adult titles are banned from the consoles....period.

slimgrin - I agree, CD projekt did some amazing things with the witcher lore and stories. They spun an entirely new and original experience using a character that was for all intents and purposes dead in the canon.

The Starz originals show on cable.  It starts off kinda bad, but the story and writing get MUCH better 4 episodes in.

It's a "poor man's" HBO ROme.  Or a "rich man's Xena" depending on how you look at it.

I hated the first episode, but enjoyed the show in the end.  The gore is still way over the top, actually reminds me of DAO gore

There is nothing "porn" about bewbs.  The most respected works of art throughout history were of the female form.   Hating bewbs is a radical religious thing introduced in the past few hundred years.

Spartactus is awesome. Definitely the rich man's Xena! I mean, the show even /includes/ a rich man who literally has Xena. 

Rome was awesome too, of course, but for different reasons.

Finally the VOICE OF REASON

Xena gets naked a bunch of Spart, and her real life persona simply explains, it's part of the character, that's why she does nude scenes now, and didn't do them much before, those other stories/shows/characters didnt call for it.

But for some reason the ultra right wing consertive nudity haters will call us "porn addicts"

That is totally correct, but thanks to the 'big-tent' Republican strategy (which won them 2 elections) far-right groups have ended up having a disproportionate influence on the media. The far-right don't have a monopoly on 'insane moralistic nonsense' but they are far more culpable for it than Democratic supporters.

Have we had a mod post in this yet? I'd like some kind of assurance there will be an official option for digital smut.

I heard that darkspanw supposedly rape the women as part of the whole transforming.
Do not know for sure.
I doubt rape will ever be put in.

Well Hilary is very pro war, anti freedom of the arts and blames video games for real world violence.  that part of her stance is indeed radical right wing.  People love calling the Clintons left wing, but honestly, Slick Willie was the master of compromise, half of his works were right wing, NAFTA support for instance is a right wing agenda item.

Has it occurred to you that expecting professional developers to create something that is essentially pornographic is extremely disrespectful? Yes, the under-wear sex is retarded, but it shouldn't be expanded on. As unnecessary as I think they are, BioWare romances have always focused on the romance, not the sex. It's about growing closer to someone as you adventure and finally that culminating in expressing those feelings to each other. The scenes would be more effective with a simple kiss and then a fade to black than the awkward second-life-sex-club scenes we get, and wanting something more explicit is honestly weird and it isn't something the company should cater for, at least in my opinion.

This is what mods are for.  So I've heard.  Within a few months there will be lots of adult mods to pick from.  So I've heard.   None of the shows you have listed are ones I'm interested in,  My taste runs toward shows like Justified, Blood Ties and Mark Harmon.  But I would have no problem with skin in appropriate places.  Love scenes are a bit lame when they have their underwear on.

It's not about the nudity, as in "we need more of it," it's about the story, and if the story calls for it, it should be there. And if it really can't, then there are better ways of avoiding strict ratings than putting clothes where LOGICALLY there should be no clothes.

These "adult mods" are basically "porn mods." If someone can point to one that's not, then I will happily retract my statement. Nudity != porn.

The one I tried changed the sex scenes to basically a page-by-page reenactment of the Kama Sutra. It was pretty ridiculous.

So in your mind, sex and pornography are the same thing? Or nudity and pornography? Are all sex scenes pornographic? If so, then why are the DAO scenes not already pornography? Because the artists covered up the nipples?

They already put the scene in...the only difference is they added some unintentionally comical censoring.
