3. How does DA2 enhance DAO gamer enjoyment if we cannot import our Warden character to be the hero/heroine?

LOL WUT?

You don't buy a sequel acting like its an addon to the original game.  Sequels from Bioware are usually mutually exclusive except for Mass Effect.

Even Baldurs Gate 2 stripped your Baldurs Gate 1 character of all gear and stats unless you use an exploit.

And his party, unless you made exactly the right choices in BG1

Exactly.

It's like people are expecting DA2 to be an expansion or something.

It's a brand new story and probably will be better then DAO.  I say it will probably be better because now they can focus 100% on gameplay/story rather than having to first design the tool set to make the character renderings, environments and graphics.

Ok let's see if I can answer these:

"1. What specifically is Bioware's corporate intent regarding continuing DAO through expansion packs or another game of say 40 hours or so to provide us with some closure?

2. What becomes of our Grey Warden character and our romance options?

3. How does DA2 enhance DAO gamer enjoyment if we cannot import our Warden character to be the hero/heroine?

4. Other than for personal enjoyment, why should we purchase any more DLC for DAO, if it does not matter (or does it)?

Chris, it is hoped that you will respond to the DAO gaming community concerning these questions and any more that arise. You can be a great help in relieving some of the anxiety that many of us are feeling by being open with your customers about what the future holds for DAO.

Sincerely, Grey Warden Marcin (talk) 18:31, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

I will add two more question:

5. Why is it only possible to choose one race as the main character, and not multiple race and origins like in DAO

6. What is the main source of inspiration for DAO2? Is it ME2 or DAO?

Sincerely, --PeterR (talk) 18:58, July 9, 2010 (UTC)"

1. I bet BW will make more DLC before March next year.

2. See 1.

3. Let me give a counter question: Why on earth should DA2 "enhance gamer enjoyment for DA:O"? If you do not find DA:O enjoyable by itself, why play it?

4. If you are playing a computer game, and is not a professional reviewer, that you do not find enjoyable in it's own right, you are doing it wrong. Two words for you: Epic. Fail.

5. Because they want to focus on a single, more in debt story than the short origins from DA:O.

6. Neither. DA2 is not "inspired by" DA:O. It is a planned sequel, made by the same people, in the same world.

Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda are both good games, what's being debated here is if Legend of Zelda will now start to turn into Super Mario Bros.
Same concept with DA:O to ME2

Which is kind of premature, given that we know so little about the game, don't you think?  Many modern games besides ME have fully voiced PCs.

Well when they start stating that there will be no more Origin stories and that we are now transitioning from a no-VO game to a full VO game, you can't blame people for complaining when they have a right to

I agree, ionly two decent DLC's was made Stone prisoner and Lelianas Song. Awakening is very bad(almost shocking).

Stone Prisoner IMO is the worst DLC< Awakenings is the best, Lelianna's 2nd

Why do people have the impression DA2 will continue the story of DA:O?

Most of my Wardens kicked the bucket at the end of DA:O. I guess they'll have to be revived by the necromancers from the Cult of Cerberus in DA2.

Man I never dreamed I would have to spend so much time facepalming about the anti-ME2 crowd. Is this really necessary? I really do not want to spend the whole time leading up to DA2 talking about ME2 again.

I am also a bit shocked at how being compared with ME2 is seen as a bad thing around here.Posted Image

ME2 is a fine game, but it's barely an RPG

What if 10 years ago someone said Baldur's Gate 3 was going to be more like Quake?

This is absurd. I've never heard of any other sequel that's attracted this much abuse from it's predecessor's fans, even ME2.  .

Star Wars The Phantom Menace!  Actually looking back, TPM is a better movie than Attack of the Boring CLones!

In depth history, that would be the first time in gaming history, I haven't seen one single original medevil rpg story. These stories are normally based on Lord of The rings, which is based on old legeneds and myths, like north mythologi. e.g. Dwarfs has been great smiths for more then a thousand years. From the few information i have seen about Hawke he/she is going to be very typical  and even more typical because he/she is a human.

I may be the black sheep here, but I found plenty of closure by the end of DA:O.

Me too, actually.

Truthfully I only finished my first playthrough tonight! I got the game a month ago, late to the party

I was expecting to be left wanting so much more- and I do, because I loved it so much and I felt really close to all my characters. But I mean, I got to be Queen, got to revitalize the Grey Wardens with Zevran as my loveee, and was well loved by my adoring public. Pretty satisfying! I can see how a Morrigan romance would be ultimately unsatistfactoy though.

But I am VERY happy to learn we can import saves! From Origins at least. According to GameInformer...

Yeah, I forgot the Morrigan romance since my initial playthrough I turned down her proposition. But, she did say you would never see her again so at the very least, she's being true to her word.

Lol... what a failure!

1. WTF question is that? Whats their intent? Obviously none... do these people really think their gonna make a 40 hour long expansion? The grey warden's story is over for the most part. Hell, my fav grey warden is f*in dead! Sounds more like a begging plea then any sort of sensible question. Immature fanboy begging no less. They've been telling us sense before DA:O's release the Warden's story prob wouldn't continue threw sequels. GET OVER IT.

2.  Do you really need spelled out closure for everything? And do they not see how difficult it would be to provide such closure considering the many many many path's people could have taken?

3. They said stuff was gonna transfer over and morrigan will more then likley return. How much DA:O will effect DA2 is up in the air, but it WILL effect DA2. I'm certain the devs aren't gonna tell you how.

4. So what, DLC not effecting DA:2 will keep people from buying it. WHY? Can't you still enjoy DA:O? DLC will make the DA:O experiance more fun and give you a reason to replay or continue.

5. I'm pretty goddamn sure a five minute search could provide you with several "official" responses to this question.

6. I think the questions are really just whiney complaints dressed up in question form to make the author seem less like a crying fanboy. This final question is the author trying to end with sweet innocent question to further make his POINTS less harsh.

Most of his questions have obvious answers you don't need a dev to answer...

EDIT- Grammer... hey I was waking up!

This deserves QFE.

People need to frickin' back off and quit judging a product that we know nearly nothing about.

why should anyone at bioware go through your letter answering all your questions

just wait for answers to be released over time, dont just throw in loads of questions so soon after the game is announced, just be happy they are going to be releasing the game

The sense of entitlement you wiki guys feel is both hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

You guys need to move on. :-) DA2 will take some of your choices from DAO, which is awesome, and it will offer a new way to have fun. So relax and enjoy the new game.
