It looks like the letter is gone. All that is left is this:

"Don't read this as it is a waste of your time and will be edited by whiney ****es over and over again. DERP DRAGON EFFECT DERP!"

Anyone can edit the page, you don't even need an account...

In time of typing, it's back.

Well now we can see why the Ultimate Sacrifice wasn't implemented in Awakening. Apparently DA fans thought it was silly, and things like the Dark Ritual were just so compelling. I mean sex is evil and PLEASE PLEASE hurt me for having sex in a sequel because I don't want to face consequences within origins.

Sweet, more concerns...

Why ppl can't just accept things?

Sure BioWare will throw out DA2 and make a new 1 for the 'fans' just for make u guys happy.

Be open minded for God's sake and try to support BioWare instead of whining around.

Anyway I'm sure that we'll hear about our warden and morrigan and the stuffs were mentioned in the letter, just WAIT.

I'm surprised no one hasn't pretended to be Chris yet.

90% of gamers don't know how games are made. They think that because DA2 was announced last week, that means they just started working on it. Don't try to think too hard on this subject, lest you begin to wonder how they think screenshots get out so fast.

Yeah. Disagreeing with design decisions is one thing, but the constant ****ing and moaning is embarrassing.

And how else are people supposed to show that they are unhappy with where the game goes?

I could with the same right claim that your moaning about other peoples concerns, is embarrasing.

*slight spoiler alert*

Let's see....

I expected DA2 to provide either a continuation or a conclusion to the warden, as DA1 (DA:O + DA:A) failed to do so, in DA:A even specificly hinting at somethig dramatic to come; the warden's dissapearance after four years. Before the information about DA2 was released, I was certain that the Warden would be either called to or forcibly brought to Weisshaupt, to explain his/her choices, and his/her final adventure would be set in Anderfels. That would be the logical continuation.

Now, that Bioware did not choose to do so is their choice, but I feel that the Warden is dropped on the floor without
closure, and my personal fear is that the reason is that it was decided to have DA2 voice-acted, and therefore it would be to expensive to continue the warden. To many different voices needed.

I've read the Game-informer article, which is just a tenpage long advertisement, with no hard questions asked or answered. I've also read the Euro-gamer article which had a few questions asked, and these was not answered in a reassuring manner.

Combined with what little news Bioware have released, I am VERY worried, for several reasons.
-The art-director worked on Jade-Empire, a game I despise. I dislike oriental-style RPG's in general.
-The protagonist is voiced, which costs a lot of money better spend elsewhere, takes away the feel of the character being MY character, and limits the dialogue. Also, there is the risk of delievering a voice or a style I'll dislike, as Mark Meer did in the ME-series.
-The ME wheel is introduced, which takes away your control over the characters replies, making it a third-person experience, rather than a first-person experience.
-The franchised "canon"-character, which gives a feeling that in Bioware's eyes this is the real Hawke (God-awful name as well). In ME2, femshep was so poorly developed that it was a sad joke, in spite of JH's mostly good acting. The lack of opportunity to play other races confirms this fear.
-Fear that Hawke, just like the warden, will be dropped without closure or a proper ending.
-Fear that just like ME2, it will be a streamlined action-adventure, rather than a true RPG.

These are MY fears, and I will continue to voice them, until they are either proven wrong, or confirmed by Bioware.  That people tells me to shut up about my fears, and just be happy, is hardly doing anything to convince me that this will be a good game. I have my opinions, other people have theirs. Dragon-age wikia is run by dedicated people, who also have concerns, and are asking about them in a civil manner. As is their right.

This is how the posters who have fears SHOULD post. Detailed complaints, not jumping to conclusions, and approaching everything CIVILLY.

Unfortunately, not everyone does the same.

That's not very fair considering his track record. Plenty of DAO's staff worked on Jade Empire too.

You could do it by acting like an adult and explaining your position in a rational, relatable manner.  Instead what's been happening is repeated threads where people do anything from insulting anyone who may potentially disagree with them, to insulting BioWare's developers, to claiming this new game is either not an RPG or is a Mass Effect clone.  There's tons of other things like this (such as the "casual gamer" bashing) but I believe I've made my point.

When people are making the posts they're making the greater majority of people are listing off matters of opinion as if they were widely accepted, or fact when they aren't.  It distances your point of view from the people you're trying to reach, or relate to.

Now I'm not going to say I'm the picture of maturity.  I'm not.  I've insulted some of the people who are really over the edge with their ****iness, etc. but I'm also not making the same thread over and over again about how rip-roarin' awesome something is to counter the annoying ****** and moan posts we've seen.

Consistently acting like children who feel entitled to something that they really aren't doesn't help anything to further your cause.  Making an "open letter" that does nothing aside from make it look like you've got an over-inflated sense of importance doesn't help much either.  The forum to address concerns is here, and the only way you're going to get osme of the concerns addressed is by waiting patiently till more information is released so you can ask questions about that.  There are a lot of things that people have asked that simply can't be answered yet because BioWare hasn't made official announcements.

For now stick to asking basic questions about what you see that you think you may not like, and try to be reasonable with your demands.  No amount of screaming and moaning is going to get the voice overs canceled, extra races for selection, the wheel taken from the game, or a complete overhaul of the game in any way.  You may, however, get some progress on something small like, say, making sure the wheel always has multiple options and that they aren't always divided into "good, bad, neutral."

To any developers of DAO2, i want to point your attention to an open letter on Dragon Wikia:

Very odd letter

"4. Other than for personal enjoyment, why should we purchase any more
DLC for DAO, if it does not matter (or does it)?

What the heck do you mean "other than for personal enjoyment" that is the only reason to play videogames in the first place, unless you are chinese gold farmer in WoW?

Some do it for the cheevos (tis the only reason why I bothered slogging through the Darkspawn Chronicles), the additional items, for completionism, or because it adds to the background. I really don't like Leliana at all but I got Leliana's Song because I wanted to know more about her, and I wasn't disappointed.

It's a legit question. They all are, really.

Yeah, it's totally legit and reasonable to ask a developer to poor in time to develop a new 40 hour campaign to get closure.  Jesus, some of us already have closure.   It would take an hour to get closure.  You don't need a whole new game to do it.  Give me a ****ing break.

And this is what you consider a mature reply??? Just because you feel you have closure, or that it could be provided in an hour, doesn't mean that everyone else agree.

Nobody asks Bioware to develop a 40 hour campaign, for the sole reason of ending the wardens story.
I'd like them to develop a forty hour or longer campaign to end the warden's story, for the same reason they have always done, I hope: To make money and tell a good story.
