Ladies and gentlemen, why so much fuss? As you know, we are dumbing down for the masses, RPG elements come second. The emphasis of our business plan for DA:O 2 lies in targeting as many casual players and console action-oriented players as possible.

It is more important how your characters swing their shiny heavy swords with negligent elegance and chop off heads and limbs, how spells explode all over the screen, all in a brand new superb cool engine. You will even be able to see your character's reflection on a sword's blade!

ME2 showed us the right path to walk along, we have left our old Bioware fans along that way but we have brought in twice as many mainstream console teen fans. They are a more perspective target group, you know. We can feed them with superb cool DLC content, like Darkspawn Chronicles – so much action, so much excitement, you had a chance to play for bad-to-the-bone guys!

I love to see our new fans' faces when we announce such a new content. They look so happy, so ingenuous as they beg their parents for a few bucks to get to the new gameplay experience!

2/10 Try to go for a more serious tone, but slip in the backhanded insults matter of factly once you have established the convincing tone. Going for the punchilnes too quickly destroys plausability and the dynamic tension between saying one thing and saying another that makes parody work. Also, try to use the same style that Bioware would use.

That's funny, because most middle-school children and teenagers don't complain anywhere near as much as the people on these forums do.

I feel like this is all I say on these forums, but please stop stereotyping console gamers. Not all console gamers are purely focused on action-oriented gameplay. I own a 360 and ME1,ME2,DA:O,DA:A and I bought them for the RPG gameplay, not the combat gameplay (imagine the shock of ME2). I'm sure there are many console gamers who enjoy Bioware's games for the RPG gameplay, so please stop stereotyping us.

I play Dragon Age on PS3 and I must say it needs more polished controls (on console) and more control options, not dumbing down.

Thats funny, because "preset origin" that people are complaining about were totally in BG and NWN. Yet somehow "old Bioware Fans" have selective memory do they?

Do you not resent the implication that console gamers are responsible for the perceived "dumbing-down" of DA2, an assumption made on tidbits of info?

It's a joke. Holy crap. LOL. I'll put it this way: are you a retarded, twitch gamer teen with the attention span of a turnip? If not, then don't take offense.

If you enjoyed the story and full richness of your own character as well as that of the NPC's, then you are NOT on of those :)

A retarded assumption, I must say. Platform doesn't matter. The most hardcore RPG of this decade - Demon's Souls - is PS3 exclusive. That said, it's a bit over the top - New Game +++ is almost impossible to beat (and basically 1-2 stat points assigned to wrong attributes may ruin your game completely, due to Black Phantoms), while in DAO Nightmare is perfectly playable. And game won't become unplayable if you invested 2 points in wrong attribute.
Games are dumbed down for wider audience. on all platforms, including PC. Look at MW2.

I'll put it this way: Aren't twitch gamer teens the ones that whine constantly when their game is imbalanced, undergoes a major change in the next game, or when "the game" causes them to die once while playing multiplayer?

Are they not the ones who then abuse the anonymity of the internet to complain about everything and then say that they're just "voicing their opinion"?

I am not retarded, nor a twitch gamer. I am responsible for the god-awful crime of being teenager, and no, I don't have the attention span of a turnip.

I enjoyed very much the richness of the characters in Dragon Age.

PS: I do understand the comments to a certain degree, as I have been ridiculed by fans of games such as COD for playing games, that are "just a lot of talking", I merely resent that console gamers across many topics on this forum are being berated for the decisions that Bioware have made.

Thanks for acknowledging my post.

I don't see this thread going anywhere good. I know this was for laughs, but all the same.
