if manufacturers can reduce prices, get rid of those glasses, and get 3D quality high enough standard so that it becomes mainstream, I definitely see a situation where game developers will begin to have to consider this aspect for their games.
I also forsee a situation which will last a few years where there will be less of an emphasis on graphical improvement from one year to the next, but an emphasis on things like motion control, 3D, etc.

The problem w/ 3D besides causing headaches and visual problems (and cost) is that the Resolution has to be scaled down so they can do 2passes.
Instead of running in 720p 30fps it will be like 580p. That's pretty low res for a HD game.

You can play DA:O in 3D already with the Nvidea setup...looks pretty cool but I find it very tiring for my eyes.

I was confused for a sec, the OP must be talking about consoles.
Almost all games can be played 3D on the PC, since what, like 2005?
The whole kit will run you about $500 though (120hz monitor + glasses).
The problem, as someone else mentioned is that te GPU has to essentially render 2 full scenes every frame, instead of one. On the PC that causes modern hardware (we're talking hardware that is three generations ahead from what's on the consoles) to take a 30-50% hit in performance. That doesn't make a difference for most games (My friend who has this setup, for example, goes from 160 fps on Left4Dead @ 1920x1200 - higher than 1080p resolution, to about 80-100 fps). No big deal. But more demanding games (say Crysis) become unplayable unless either the resolution is lowered or the graphics detailed is lowered considerably.
Same thing will happen on the consoles. Games running in 3D will have to be rendered at both a lower resolution (even less than 720p) and at lower graphics detail, otherwise the hardware won't be able to keep up.

As I understand it, despite the performance hit (as I mentioned above), the actual implementation of 3D should be easy - at least on the xbox 360. On the PC this is done independent of the game via DirectX. Since the xbox uses DirectX9 I would imagine that enabling this shouldn't be a large undertaking. I guess it's just a matter of whether they can still make the game look good/run well in 3D given the performance hit it will suffer.

Dragon Age is already in 3d if you own 3d vision. Problem is, the text is so small that it's difficult to read. In order to make it workable they will have to make a bulky console like Oblivion interface. Do you really want that?

DAO in 3D wasn't that great imo, maybe just for the fact I had a bad habit of playing it for 3-4 hours at a time and would get splitting headaches from it. Regardless you really need a flashy in your face game to get the most out of it, those aren't qualities I like in my RPG's.
