 Even other Rpgs without the great origin stories of DAO have allowed us to choose different heroes. So if it has to be absolutely to be Hawke, at least allow him to be a dwarf or an elf. And it is probably not too much work to provide an option for a female Hawkette.

Check your info... Hawke can be female.

You WILL have to play as a human in DAO2, be it male or female.

And on the bright side, I bet the animations are a lot better since all they have to focus on (for the most part) are human animations. Maybe.
