.......entirely new cinematic experience

This combined with DG's quote that they were going to follow DA:A's conversation system  (I can provide link if necessary) spells ME2 but worse.........

I hope that I wrong, but fear that I am right.

I am sure it has been. This is shaping to be a cluster f#$%^. It is as if Bioware/EA has no clue as what what made DAO great in the first place.

They will concentrate on a Mass Effect 2 presentation at the expense of volume and depth. I don't want voiced character, that sucked balls. Mass Effect 2.5.

Unfortunately, I fear you are correct. Incidentally, not one dev has come on to contradict that line of reasoning, that DA2 = ME2.

Why do you say this? You do not what Hawke is like except for the vague information bits that have been released, you do not know the story, you do not know much about the gameplay... it's alright to express your fears, but you actually cant say that Bioware/EA has screwed up based on few sentences. The release of the game isnt even until next year :o

I wonder how long it takes until we see photoshopped screens of dialogue

Oh, EA knows exactly what made Origins great...4 years or so of development, top notch voice talent, blood sweat and tears from the Bioware staff to produce one of the best RPG experiences ever. You can bet your bottom dollar EA will not want to repeat that fiasco as it is not cost effective.

I put the blame more in EA's court. They are notorious for pushing deadlines and wanting games out earlier than they should be. That's why we end up with bugs galore and some games that barely work. Not really the game studio's fault...it's the entity cracking the whip above them.

As I said above, all that it would take for me to relax is for ONE dev to come on and say that they are not going in a ME2 style presentation.   All signs point to that not happening.

Dragon Age has far more pointless dialogue, it was just better done. Like the pointless non-related convo's in Pulp
Fiction, not everything needs to have a point, it makes the convo's feel  more natural than contrived. Sadly, the dialogue on both games end up  being a contrived bar chart regardless.

I think I don't want  stupid bar going up and down, don't tell me specifically how well I am  doing with people, make it more natural please. Also remove bribe system, makes characters vacuous shallow Sex In The City characters.

The game is also going to serve as a “new entry point” for newcomers,
according to executive producer Mark Darrah.

This quote scares me even more

An "entirely new cinematic experience," could mean action command cut scenes.

I know David won't say it but I think that is why they didn't bring in the old crew of DAO, the characters I mean, would ruin them. EA will not give David and his team the time to make a great part 2 and that is the truth. Now this is what you will get, half ass games. I see a bad score from the likes of IGN and Gamepro, Gamespot, unless EA pays them to give it a high one and thats been done before, the days of a game like DAO is over, see David has to make game for the likes of people that love to watch TV 24/7 and act like zombies, not really his fault, the EA Broodmothers have him now and he is lost. Sorry for you David.

To me that means cutting ties with DAO, except for maybe a codex entry or two.

I don't mind Awakenings' system, although I'd like it to be tweaked a bit and expanded upon and what not.

The actual idea of your party members remarking on the world and party banter developing their character rather than you interrogating them in camp is great, it just needs to be a bit more in depth.

That part was fine.  What sucked was clicking on trees to initiate dialogue.
