I'm not playing through on awakening again until it is out.

lol, I put my first game of Awakening on hold indefinitely after I ran into a number of bugs at once... that was shortly after the game came out. Had I known it would take this long for a patch...

...I know.  I wouldn't have bought it yet either.

Wait has the Rogue's dex bug been patched yet on 360? I'm holding off my playthrough until it is..

As far as dex fixes, only daggers are mentioned in the patch notes, gonna have to wait and see I guess if anything else is included. Image IPB

This is a bug that the devs know about. But one that they have chosen not to fix. Again.

Who's policy is it that all patches must be the same and released at the same time? Is it Bioware not wanting to upset console users, or is it Sony and Microsoft not wanting those darn PC-players to get anything first?

The policy is a contractual obligation that all patch versions be identical across all platforms that allows Bioware to port their game onto the consoles.  So, yeah, it is Microsoft and Sony protecting their interests.

Imagine if Bioware only put forth patches for the PC, all players would simply abandon the console versions of the game and as a result, Microsoft/Sony loses profits.  It all makes perfect business sense.  After all, they're in the business of making money - not just producing a game that everybody likes out of the goodness of their hearts. Cant they just add the texture fixes discreetly as something the next DLC or Expansion brings.

Ah, like NO.  If the patch was contained only in a DLC or expansion, you'd have to purchase it in order to get the fix.  Patches are supposed to be FREE.  I can imagine the outrage from the player community if they had to pay for a patch!  Image IPB

didn't Bioware release patch 1.02 for mass effect 2 to the xbox first then the pc some time after?

If so, then why "now" does everything have to be released at same time if other patches did not have simultaneous releases?, it does not make sense..if you ask me...

Microsoft controls Xbox and a Microsoft OS of some sort is required to play the PC version. So, whichever version a person decides to get, Microsoft are basically competing with themselves on ME. It's "win/win" for them.

You throw another manufacturer in there, and I'm guessing things change.

I also love how microsoft always jumps the gun and releases DLC and patches before they are supposed to be released.

Dragon Age: Awakening Fixes
•    A variety of bugs were preventing personal quests from triggering and causing issues with party member approval have been fixed.

Does this also mean the characters that should go through the joining will actually do so?

(What I mean is, in one expansion game I got Justice first, then Velanna & lastly Sigrun.  When this happens, I can do Velanna's Joining, but the instant I talk to Varel after returning from getting Sigrun, it goes straight into the Siege Event, thereby skipping Sigrun's Joining and Personal Quest altogether.)

No release date yet? Itching to replay the Awakening. I thought it was a terrific expansion minus the bugs. And since I'm not so pleased with the Dragon Age 2 news, I'd like to get my DA on.

There should be a patch news update in about 4.5 hours from now.

So far Microsoft have solved many important issues the game had contained, such as doubtful thoughts or even malicious thoughts which could have caused some serious bugs afterwards.

Also without Microsoft's help, the game must have been still keep crashing.

I think the game should follow Microsoft's regulations.

The game had some troubles with Microsoft, but it will be surely solved, since it is important matter for the game.

since they have been updating weekly for the past few weeks?
though if it's a certification thing they are waiting on, I don't know how much of an update it could be.
i.e. Update - "Still waiting"

That's how it's been with all the patch updates so far; Victor has been posting the information on the patch at the end of the work day on Friday.

I'd bet on early August.  It's Microsoft/Sony certification that's holding it up now.  Image IPB

The patch is ready for PC's and probably already sitting on the FTP servers ready for the "green light".  Image IPB

Hopefully we'll get a fixed release date for the patch this time. As I wrote earlier, my estimation is August, 22nd. I have a hunch I am not far off...

Heh that would be better than the same date as the release of Dragon Age 2.
