Still no mention about the disappearing DLC equipment at certain parts in the game, huh?  I would hardly think that the Blood Dragon Armor would be considered "incompatible gear" when I haven't even installed Awakenings yet.  Image IPB

any chance that this will be released before "dragon age 2" or is EA going to wait till a patch for dragon age 2 is needed and release them at same time?.

i would laugh but all this waiting is way beyond a joke. :(

A few weeks for the console versions, and possibly Monday for PC (I assume since the EA QA is done that the PC patch could be ready early next weeke).

"Note concerning Silverite Mine, Arl of Denerim’s Estate, and Item issues: Please accept our apologies. While we wish we could have fixed these issues to the community’s satisfaction, we are unable to do so at this time. As indicated, we realize that none of these workarounds are ideal in any way but regrettably have no other course of action as we have very strict limitations with what we are able and not able to patch, on consoles especially. We have taken into account the root issues related to the implementation of these areas/pieces and will carry it forward in an effort to avoid things like this happening in the future."

I take it this is an issue with not being able to re-export the areas with the necessary changes? (or for that matter, the area files would likely be too large for a patch, particularly on consoles)

Ah well, excited for the patch.

I find it curious that people always blame the consoles for problems. I've always thought the opposite. If the game were for console only, and there was no patching expected/required, companies would actually take the time to release a finished product. Instead, they release games knowing that PC users are willing to tweak and patch and tweak again. Computer gaming has always been imperfect. It's the nature of the beast. I'm sure the problems with the game are related to the fact it is being developed for 3 different systems at once. It's an imperfect situation that is always going to present problems.

Wouldn't want to burst a big bubble here, but unless you have only a wii (the only console whose games can't be patched, and that still has games with bugs, even disastrous ones like the Zelda bridge bug, that end up NOT being corrected because of the lack of patching capabilities of the console) most console games (even console-only games) nowadays have patches to correct post launch.

So no, sorry, the problems aren't a matter of being on PC, it's just a matter of sloppy testing and QA.

It's the whole industry in general doing
it, dlc is easy money for less work than it takes to make a new game,
not much chance of things changing. Kinda sucks being nickle and dimed
to death with every game you buy, but that's where things are headed
now. I am also hoping for bows to be fixed, can't seem to get an answer
for that no matter how many times I ask, been waiting a long time to
make my archer and it worries me to only see daggers listed for dex
fixes.

There are still quite a lot of game developers that still dedicate sizable development resources to patching their games to good conditions before releasing any DLCs. People tend to use "the industry" as an excuse quite a lot (second ranked after "the publisher"), but there are quite a lot of cases in the industry in which developers still care for the satisfaction of their customers as much as their revenue (because they quite smartly know that the satisfaction of their customers, on the long run, IS revenue).

I'm relatively happy... I guess. Although this still goes jack nothing about any of the major epilogue glitches.

http://social.biowar...index/1785536/1

I'm also upset that despite me linking this in every single patch notes thread, it's still not a "known issue". Even when it was supposedly reported to you guys by one of your staff members back when Awakenings launched. Can we please have this issue addressed, even if it's a simple "Can't fix it, sorry."

I'll probably pick this game up for the PC someday way down the road. It seems as if it's the more stable and fun version anyways.

So pretty much this means that I have to have no characters have the blood powers now so I can get the proper skins of the armor and weapons in awakening because if I uninstall Wardens keep, it won't let me play that character in Awakening because I have the blood powers. That's plain stupid.<_<

Thanks for the update.

I'm curious though, is Jowan's Intentions a bugged quest that
hasn't been fixed yet but is meant to be playable? Or was it
meant to be removed from the game and you guys missed the
trigger?

I'm assuming that it's only supposed to be available if you let him go at Redcliffe; I'd have to look in the toolset to be sure, though.

I have another bug to report in Awakening. I was playing an Orlesian Warden earlier, started the game and didn't talk to Mhairi, I accidently pressed backward after talking to the survivor and it skippsed right away to the battle where you have to kill the talking Darkspawn. Then Alistair came like usual and there were invisible Anders and Oghren talking. I restarted the game again and repeated the same actions for the fun of it, the bug was still there.

We also wanted to update you on the status of the patch as it makes its way through the QA process. This week, the patch passed EA certification and has been sent to Microsoft and Sony for their certification. This process generally takes a couple of weeks. When we get closer to getting certification, we will be able to determine a release date.

Thanks for the update, just one question.

Why does the PC patch require certification?

Probably because they haven't really FINISHED it and are using Microsoft and Sony as an excess to buy more time.

There is no reason the PC patch can't be released NOW.

Sounds like more BS if you ask me.

Disguise Bug = you are unable to unequip the howe guard or later the city guard
disguise and will not get your own armor back.
Normally after the cutscene on opening the 1rst door in Howe's dungeon
the party should get their normal gear back and the disguise is deleted by then.

Only work around is to enter a room in the Arl of Denerim's estate  where a guard
harasses a maid.
After the cutscene the disguise drops and the party gear returns tro normal.
Only catch is that you can't revisit Howe's estate...

Caused by random engine hickups due to the ram memory hogs in this location as
well as by a glitch at Anora's locked room dor.
Can't confirm the  theory Victor mentions about hostile effects though

- haven't tried breaking the game using brute force yet. ;)

If they release it now, they fear there will be backlash and trolling/anger from the console camps, so they are likely to release all 3 at once.

Truth be told, PC should be released first. That way if there's any issues caused by the patch, they could delay the 360/PS3 patches and fix them, sort of like what happened with RtO.

Ah...

I have many things to say.

For the first, I owe you a lot, those who made things changed.

I remember all I did was complain and give up every day. I'm sorry about it for Bioware.

And while I'm not so sure where has been interesting in the story DA2 going about,

now I'll leave my trust to Bioware that they will make those to be worth something.

Why does human nature turn wishes into assumptions?

The way the english reads there, it is quite clear that the PC patch does not get a seperate or early release.

I'm sorry I can't enter Lothring lately, again.
The bandit leaders insist that one of our brothers have violated their rules by posting governmental matters on Chnater's board.
It is true the rules forbid this kinds of posts on Chanter's board for it could disturb chanter's job or elections.
I also wonder why foreign travelers could enter there that easily....

I'm not sure about PC patch but isn't it what that depends on PC language abilities?

I'll try my best, but for now this is my best, I'm sorry...

Looks promising. Will download to my XBOX and decide wether I get familar with Bioware again or not. Im still interested in all of the DLC since Wardens Keep, but havent bought anything (except RTO for story) due to a "lack" of support. Perhaps well get a new deal after this patch has been released. Lets see.

About Xbox... regardless how I respect what the Microsoft is, I'm not going to play the game on 360...

A bad witch saying that if there will be blood, it wakes.

The blood could be mine a blade causes, or yours...

I think I have enough my blood shed so far, not only 360 related, so I don't want that kind of bloody games for now, if I don't need to die for that entertainment...

General Fixes
•    Daggers will now properly assign the dexterity-based damage bonus

But in Patch Dragon Age: Origins 1.02a

"Balance
Daggers now apply 0.5 points of damage per additional point in dexterity and 0.5 points of damage per additional point in strength, as originally intended. This increases dagger damage for high-dexterity characters."

I`m asking about PC version: Duggers now working properly or no? Or I stiil need to wait patch 1.04.
