I am  at the point where i have to go recruit the Dalish, mages, arl eamon, dwarves etc..is there much more of the main story after i recruit these?

i wanna do all side quests and whatnot before i finish the main story

Evenually you must face Loghain, before you do that your free to complete as many quest as you want.

yes but as the main story line goes, is there much between where im at and where i face loghain

This is a guess but you are around 3/4 to 7/8 the way done.

im like 40 hours in the game and its says iive only done like 25 percent
