Why is no one else curious?

Right, now that we've gotten that out of our systems, isn't anyone curious about the story itself? Specifically: the white haired girl?
I don't know if she was mentioned in the GI article (I didn't read it) and I know she can't be the female concept of Hawke because her design is a little too unique and deferentiated from Hawke.
Looking at the picture...
1. She is wearing mage robes that are somewhat similair to the Tevinter robes, and she's got the staff, so we know she's a mage. However, she's wearing heavy armor on her legs and one arm--the other looking weirdly demonic. The robes themselves also appear to provide some kind of heavier protection, so she might be a class more specialized with close combat. Also, her weapon looks a little like a combination between an axe and a staff... It certainly looks a lot deadlier than the traditional mage staves of the first game.
2. The different dragon features. She has the horns--or something, it looks a little strange in the art--the scale looking armor, the claw, and even the plate she's wearing--the shape of it isn't very traditional, with the barbs and the odd shape. The cover reveals this particularly well--it's kind of small, but its quite easy to see the similarities between her and the dragon in the background. This might suggest that she is a shapeshifter, or based on the tevinter-esque robes, somehow tied the the tevinter empire or cult of andraste.
3. She doesn't look very friendly, but she hasn't been portrayed in a particularly negative light or as an obviously evil character. I have my doubts that she will be an ally, but that's just speculation.
Anyway... anyone have wild speculations about who she may be? I know DA2 may not be all you dreamed, but come on, this is BIOWARE. Bioware games have good writing and interesting stories. I think that should be the focus more than a "conversation wheel" or "no origins" or "no race selection". Those are rather minor game mechanics, in my opinion--you may disagree--but still.
Don't tell me I'm the only one pumped about making a smoking hot femme fatale named Hawke, who I will play as a medieval female version of James Bond, reppin' my name, breaking hearts, and kicking ass with a huge goddamn sword.

If Bioware comes out and says this not ME2.5 on fantasy earth, then ill start paying more attention to the characters and such

Could just be concept art of an enemy or a new demon.
I've considered that... but if that WAS the case, why would she be so specifically highlighted on the back cover of the GI magazine? She may be an enemy or just a demon, but I think she'd have a bigger role to play in the overall plotline. I'm guessing myself that she will have something of a role like the Architect, in that she may be presented as a villain but as her character is fleshed out throughout the course of the game she could be interpreted as a morally grey character.

Kind of in this boat, ME2 had a decent(not great, but decent) story, but the dumbing down of the game took away from the story for me. I think I will be too distracted/frustrated by what they took out from the DOA game to really notice whats going on in the world.

...I don't get the 'calming down part' but thanks for showing this. I didn't say this myself because the big plot hole here is that some players did not conceive a child with Morrigan. I actually think that she is Flemeth herself, as someone else posted earlier, with Morrigan as her host, and in the time gap between the first and second game somehow grew stronger.
Something with Morrigan and flemeth though is my best bet, seeing as her mysterious ending in the first game involved her going North, right (can't remember now) and the fact that the player never actually learns if Flemeth is dead--the codex entry is rather open-ended after you kill Flemeth.

How do you. or whoever made this slideshow, deduct that said dragon is an archdemon?
Where does it say that Hawke was a child during the last Blight?
Where does it say how long ago from the ending of DA:O, DA2 is set?

What I can deduct is:
She's obviously a mage/apostate.
She's a shapeshifter.
She doesn't seem to be either benign or evil. (Read: She makes logical choices)
And that's the only thing that makes her similar to Morrigan.

Actually Morrigan goes west to Orlais no matter which ending you choose. So since all endings point to her being in Orlais. This woman might more portray Flemeth in another body (might be Morrigan's but unlikely i think). I believe it might be Flemeth because we already know that Flemeth can shapeshift into a dragon. Having this woman with a dragon with the info that we already have on Flemeth could possibly lead to this woman being Flemeth and not Morrigan and/or the god-child (very unlikely).

Look in the "5 facts about Hawke" article, I'm pretty sure all of that is explained, minus the archdemon part.Monstruo696 wrote...

...You didn't look very hard before asking "is nobody else curious about her"? While half of the topics here are complaining, the other half is buzzing like the FIFA stadium, speculating as to her identity.Juneya wrote...

One thing to remember is that that is concept art. concept art rarely looks like the final look of the game. Also, from the sreenshots in the mag I'd say it looks nothing like the game.

Very true, though I would say that generally BioWare's concept art is closer to their actual stuff in Mass Effect.
I don't mind the new art direction. Stylized art is not a bad thing, and honestly, I'm getting a bit tired of the same semi-realistic BROWNNESS that seems to be plaguing the games market. Maybe I'm just an unrepentant, perpetual four-year-old at heart who has a pathological addiction to cuteness, but part of the reason why I'm so excited for Kirby's Epic Yarn is because IT'S NOT COMPLETELY BROWN.
I do mind ridiculous-looking Final Fantasy style art, though. Whatever I'm working with can't be so unrealistic it breaks immersion and makes me bang my head on the desk screaming about physics
