It's not Morrigan for the umpteenth time.

She went WEST towards ORLAIS.

Yeah, and who knows how long ago? We have no idea if DA2 is 5, 10, 20 years after the first game. Why would she have to stay WEST towards ORLAIS for the rest of her life??

Look in the "5 facts about Hawke" article, I'm pretty sure all of that is explained, minus the archdemon part.

Nope.  Nothing is explained.  Nowhere does it say Hawke was a kid when he escaped Lothering, or how long DA2 is set after the events of DA:O.  Until said information is released, all information regarding Hawke's age and the timeframe of DA:2 has been pulled out of someone's arse, therefore the slideshow shown in this thread is full of informational fallacies until someone cites the source of said information.

BLAH BLAH BLAH, THIS GAME WILL SUCK BLAH, I HATE IT ALREADY BOOOOOOOO

Right, now that we've gotten that out of our systems, isn't anyone curious about the story itself? Specifically: the white haired girl?
I don't know if she was mentioned in the GI article (I didn't read it) and I know she can't be the female concept of Hawke because her design is a little too unique and deferentiated from Hawke.
Looking at the picture...

1. She is wearing mage robes that are somewhat similair to the Tevinter robes, and she's got the staff, so we know she's a mage. However, she's wearing heavy armor on her legs and one arm--the other looking weirdly demonic. The robes themselves also appear to provide some kind of heavier protection, so she might be a class more specialized with close combat. Also, her weapon looks a little like a combination between an axe and a staff... It certainly looks a lot deadlier than the traditional mage staves of the first game.
2. The different dragon features. She has the horns--or something, it looks a little strange in the art--the scale looking armor, the claw, and even the plate she's wearing--the shape of it isn't very traditional, with the barbs and the odd shape. The cover reveals this particularly well--it's kind of small, but its quite easy to see the similarities between her and the dragon in the background. This might suggest that she is a shapeshifter, or based on the tevinter-esque robes, somehow tied the the tevinter empire or cult of andraste.
3. She doesn't look very friendly, but she hasn't been portrayed in a particularly negative light or as an obviously evil character. I have my doubts that she will be an ally, but that's just speculation.

Anyway... anyone have wild speculations about who she may be? I know DA2 may not be all you dreamed, but come on, this is BIOWARE. Bioware games have good writing and interesting stories. I think that should be the focus more than a "conversation wheel" or "no origins" or "no race selection". Those are rather minor game mechanics, in my opinion--you may disagree--but still.

Don't tell me I'm the only one pumped about making a smoking hot femme fatale named Hawke, who I will play as a medieval female version of James Bond, reppin' my name, breaking hearts, and kicking ass with a huge goddamn sword.

I know that Bioware has good writers. I know they make quality games. That's not my concern, and frankly, I'm too bummed that such broad changes are being made to gaming model that was the most satisfying I'd ever played. Do I think it will suck? No. Do I think a voiced protagonist, increased reliance on 'cinematics', and decreased dialogue will make it into a game that I am likely to not want to play? Yes. If I do look at the story as described, I'm just not that interested. It sounds like a quest for power, and I'm about as interested in that as Alistair was.

And she stays there forever, okB) It's obvious that you can't stand wild speculation, so why are you even here?

That makes me wonder, will a dwarf be the most hated companion again?

It's hard to be curious over such little information. Like someone making a few brush strokes on a canvas and tantalizing you with the few dabs of paint. You know the paintings going to be finished eventually, you might as well wait for there to be more form before investing much attention to it.

That said, I wonder if this may be the first female antagonist BioWare has ever done. And I mean main antagonist, not sidekick/miniboss.

Right, because the game tells us she went west just to trick us into believing she didn't go north.

****ing storytelling, how does it work
