With that fun little title out of the way, let us discuss the future of specializations in DA2.
Anyone else think that the whole "Champion" specialization for Warriors might be removed or renamed on account of in-story title purposes or do you think that, given the status of specializations like Templar and Keeper, it'll just be another case of story/gameplay dissonance?

I'm hoping for an archery specialization that plays differently for warriors and rogues. One focusing on crossbows/long bows with a lot of stopping power vs short bows with increased speed/hit rating.

We have Arcane Warrior, which is essentially a mage with a couple fingers in the warrior pie, but I think it'd be cool if there was a specialization that allowed mages to pick up a couple rogue-type skills--perhaps magically-augmented backstabs or the ability to cast certain weak spells from a stealthed status.

I hope specializations are actually specializations and not just unlocking some different skills.
For example, you should only be able to specialize in one thing, and it should change the way your class plays rather than just adds a couple of related spells and sustained abilities.
I think the best done specialization for this in the original game was Assassin, as it is the only specialization that truly defined a certain playstyle. Shapeshifter was close too, would have been perfect if it wasn't underpowered in the base game. (Thank god for mods) Other specializations weren't as well done. (Other than a select few abilities, like the Blood mage/arcane warrior toggles and the Templar anti-mage abilities)

The second must include an over used internet meme and a kick ability.

As long as the person we're kicking is the one who popularized the meme.

I hope they completely redo specializations. Also, I think each character should get at least one unique specialization.

I hope the non-Mage base classes are overhauled to have more depth, and that the specialization classes add more abilities or even have as much depth as the base classes. It would also be nice if they played some role in the story, even if just a bit of dialog here and there. Like a potential party member who refuses to join you, or one who leaves, if you practice blood magic, or Mages acting nervous around you if you're a Templar.

Besides changing the gameplay mechanics of the specs ( for example, making Arcane Warrior feel more like a WARRIOR....not just a mage who can wear armor and carry a sword ), and of course adding new specs.......I want the specs to actually affect the STORY.
For example, given that Arcane Warriors ( according to the definition ) are a "rare breed," I would like that uniqueness to relfect in the PC and how others respond to you. You should be recognized as an AW.....not just as a mage.
Same with being a Templar.............ppl should actually treat you differently. If you meet a mage, and they find out you're a Templar, they should react accordingly.
With "dark specs" lik Reaver or Blood Mage, ppl should fear you more and treat you with suspicion....no matter how much good you do,
An Assassin Rogue would be hired to do assassination missions.....etc.

Medic specialization?
Oh wait, that'd be a waste cause I can pick up one-time use pouches that fix any ailment and thers MAGIC!
I do hope they have new ones, and maybe have you do something to actually get trained in them? Instead of, "You are a Champion of Redcliffe!" *Specialization unlocked*

Certain persuasion options based on class would be cool, like a mage who's only threatened/intimidated by a Templar, or a Blood Mage who will only be persuaded/charmed by you if you're also a Blood Mage.
