What RPG roots? Their first games were MDK.

Bioware already abandoned the RPG root when they made BG realtime with pause, not following the true RPGs like Wizardry or Fallout.

Well since I'm not into Diablo style RPG or Final Fantasy style (I could get into this but the story has to be really, really good), Bioware is the only hope I have.

DA:O is about as close as you'll get to a traditional type RPG. The majority are gone now or have been hacked down to being action RPG's.

So is this thread just going to be old nerds being out nerded by older nerds mentioning the "good ol' days" of RPG games?

Then I guess I don't understand the point of the post.
It'd be like posting "New visual style? Bioware shouldn't make it a 2D side-scroller" then saying that there's no reason to assume that it would be a 2D side-scroller. I mean, if you know you're jumping to conclusions, why even bother?

I'm not even sure why I'm bothering to say this but I'm gonna do it anyway because I feel like it.

You ask "why even bother?"  Well, let's see, to share thoughts, ideas, musings, observations, and to connect.  I could list more but hopefully you get the point.  I mean, I've seen posts where the topic is "what song are you playing right now."  Honestly, I don't understand the point of that but I know it's their so the OP could connect with other community members.

I would consider any thoughts, opinions, or concerns of DA2 an assumption, so I'm not sure why you would believe that it's pointless to create a post of that nature.

It's not pointless to share thoughts and concerns, but saying "I hope DA2 doesn't include x for the following reasons" is different than acting like x is already included, and lamenting the decline and fall of BioWare. That's all I'm saying.

For example, on the "Fears" thread, I posted that after reading "new visual style" and seeing the concept art, a little voice in my head wondered if BW was going to go all Wind Waker on us. I didn't post "Making Dragon Age cel-shaded like Wind Waker will ruin the franchise" or whatever.

Anyway. It's not that big of a deal, I guess. Just struck me as odd when I read it.

Idgi. Like the mods really can't restore things back to the way it was before you started doing it and can't lock threads? If anything you simply cause a minuscule inconvenience for about 2 minutes and then nobody even remembers who you are...
