If someone not British is going to do a British accent, then please make them bloody good (like, Jennifer Hale good). Would much prefer an American accent to a bad British one.

Dunno if she speaks English...
If Female Hawke is to be a tough and really strong character, what about this girl?

I LOVED Noomi in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But like you said, does she even speak English? And if she does, is there a noticeable Swedish accent? Not sure that would be right for the game. But yeah, she kicks unbelievable amounts of ass.

Yeah, she was outstanding in that movie - watched it last night.

I watched the extras on the DVD earlier today, which I had on rental - yup, she spoke in there. She speaks English pretty good and she does have an accent and a half.

Hmmmm...if she ain't female Hawke, maybe she could play somebody else in the game? :D

One thing I've been wondering is how Bioware are going to deal with regional accents in future games in the Dragon Age series. I mean, Ferelden was based on Britain, so it makes sense that everyone had British accents. Other countries in Thedas seem to correspond with various real-life countries and have the languages/accents to match. But what if Bioware want to set a game in Antiva or Orlais? Will they have all the NPCs speak in English but with Spanish/French accents? Will they speak their own language with English subtitles? What's the deal going to be?

They're sort of getting around it this time as Hawke seems to be from Ferelden so he'll have a British accent, and we have no idea about the Free Marches language/accent so Bioware are free to do what they want with it.

See, since none of the character are actually speaking English, I assumed that the only reason we heard non-British accents in the first game was because people were speaking Ferelden with a foreign accent.

So Leliana speaks Ferelden with an Orlesian accent, etc, but if we heard Leliana and Marjorlaine speaking together in Orlesian, they'd lose the French accents completely. Just like how, in MGS3, all the russians spoke with American accents, because they weren't actually speaking English at all, so what did it matter?

Of course, Leliana's song seems to have thrown a spanner in the works, there.

Still, it's worth pointing out that not every character from another region gets an accent in the first game. Take Oriana, for example: Fergus' wife is from Antiva, yets speaks with an English accent. Same goes for Talesin.  The mages from the Tevinter Imperium all had British accents, too....

Heres reaching back...who was the guy who did the Voice over for the character Garret in the game Theif? He had the perfect amount of rouge snarkiness. My choice would be him.

Stephen Russell.

Great voice actor!

For those that don't know him, here's what he sounds like.

Michael T. Weiss would be awesome as well (The Nameless One) "One foot in the grave, the other in hell.".

For FemHawke I want Melissa Disney (Imoen!)

I suggested that on a previous thread and have slightly changed my mind. The problem isn't in his range of emotion and tone. There, he's a damn powerhouse. The problem is the voice has to sound good whatever the character looks like. Nathan's wouldn't really fit a bunch of looks including "big manly" which I think a lot of people will design Hawke as.

...Beard optional.

Say what we will about Meer, the voice suited a hell of a lot of Sheps we made, more often than not. Though that isn't an endorsement for him to do Hawke in the slightest, you need someone who can do that.

LMAO, Someone get this man an emmy asap.  Hmm Pierce Brosnan for a celeberty and Terrence C. Carson for a voice actor. Community seems split on form which side the voice should come from. Those are my two.

Please not Bean. He was awful in his only game voice-over role.
