A rengade/paragon dialogue option like in mass effect where it took out the consequences of making a decision (though persuade kind of does this) like in mass effect. An example of this from masseffect2 (spoilers ahead of me2) is the tali mission and you decide to get her exiled or show the evidence of her father building geth and instead of making that choice you could just not show the evidence or get tali exiled by using one of the rengade/paragon options. That ruined the choice making for mass effect and i had the choice to not even think about the consequences of my choices because of the option. Now I know I didn't have to choose those choices but when they end up put a win-lose option to a win-win option whose not going to choose it?

We have persuade, which can always be made into a win. Also, paragon/renegade bars have seems to be a no, according to some of the bioware comments. So we shouldnt have to deal with this

The one thing I dont want most?

Morrigan's Kid. Because that'd make the Dark Ritual canon.

Well there is already quite a bit in it that would have been 1# on my "do not want" list. So I'll go with the next on the chopping block. Non customizable party members.

I think the ritual is pretty much canon. It's who Morrigan does the ritual with that's not.

My canon story has always been Loghain taking the killing blow to redeem himself.

Which doesn't change anything. If you decline Morrigan's offer she merely goes off to Orlais to find a Warden there. Again, I think the ritual itself is canon but who participates in it is not.

The Archdemon would be dead by the time she got there.

Also, if she went and got another GW to do it, why does someone still die at the end? You don't need her in the party to survive.

Standing there while the Archdemon was killed could simply be the easiest way to get the essence. I'd be very surprised if that was the only trick Morrigan had up her sleeve. Perhaps I'm giving her too much credit, but the fact that she shows up where there's a plethora of Wardens tells me that she's not  licked when you decline her offer.

If she had another trick though, then why did someone still die? They die because the soul of the AD went into them, and both were destroyed.
