There is no point in putting 2 behing Dragon age because you can't play as your character from orgins and from what I know the only similarity between the 2 DO games is the setting. This is like calling star trek the next generation... Star Trek 2. I don't know anything about marketing but I don't like sequels to be a sequel only in name.
Just call it Dragon Age

They can call it whatever they want, it's a sequel to the game series. Most sequels do have a number after the name title.

I don't see where Bioware ever said the Grey Warden was the main character of the series. Do you have a link TC?

Though they did give that impression after Awakening came out and the warden continued to be the main character and then ended with the warden vanishing.
