Now it is possible to import decisions from DAO but in Awakening it wasn't?

Does this mean that we will again only be able to import the decisions if we did not do the ultimate sacrifice?
And if it is possible to import the decisions even if the US took place, why was it not possible to bring the decisions over to Awakening?
It would be very disappointing if the US can't be imported, as this would mean the US would have been for naught.

Honestly, I'm just happy they're allowing save imports. Awakening made a lot of mistakes, and if DA2 is going to rectify them, good. Awakening was very rushed, I'm assuming that had a lot to do with it.

Well you can't import the sacrifice into Awakenings because you're dead. However, you're not playing the Grey Warden in DA2. Hmmm... I wonder if this means that Awakenings is non-canon...
DA2 is meant to be a different story about a different main character, not an expansion of Origins and the Warden story. That's why you're not playing the Warden, not because it's assumed the Warden is "unavailable" for the main character role in DA2.

I am a bit irritated. When Awakening was announced, it was said that it was impossible to import the decisions of the hero when he did the ultimate sacrifice. But with DA 2 you can import the decisions?

Well, one of the devs (don't have a link--going on memory) said that it would have been possible to import the world state into Awakening but that it would have been complicated and taken a long time to implement and that as a result they focused resources elsewhere. Personal speculation: disconnect between Bioware teams combined with an underestimation of player reaction led to the Awakening snarl. Possible upside: mistake not repeated for DA2, given longer development time and greater resources.
