If you have him have the child with Morrigan, even if you convince him to marry Anora, does he always end up a bitter drunk?

I think he only ends up as a bitter drunk if you let Loghain live.

In my ending, I threw Alistair out and al and took Lghain in, married Anora and became Kingl. But it didn't mention Alistair being a drunk?

He wasn't a bitter drunk in my ending... He fathered the child, didn't marry Anora, killed Loghain himself, and seemed very very happy at the celebration. He wasn't even mentioned in the epilogue blurbs, so I figure he's just a happy Grey Warden in Amaranthine.

Huh, odd. Maybe I did something else to get him all pissy.

Nope. I killed Loghain and had Alistair father the child, but he wasn't a drunk in my epilogue. Least not as far as I could tell.

Alistair was actually nowhere to be found in my ending. I had him lead the "hold the gates" party and then never saw him again at all.

I believe he only ends up drunk if you let Loghain live, Alistair doesn't marry Anora, doesn't become King, and leaves after the Landsmeet.

So he can't end up a bitter drunk if he's around to possibly have a child with Morrigan.

I had one ending where we had the romance, made Anora queen, he killed Loghain, but I sacrificed myself (left Alistair at the gates, no demon baby).

Resulted in him returning to the Grey Wardens for a short time but saying it "wasn't the same", and he leaves Ferelden.

I'm playing as a HNM this time through and wondering what will happen to my bud Alistair if I become king.
I have the demon baby with my girl M. He kills Logain although I'm going to fight L, comes with me to fight the Archdemon, is 100% friendly and unhardened.

Will he be in the lineup of well-wishers at the celebration? Can I convince him to stick around? I know I'll find out when I get there, but I've learned through harsh reality that B'ware can slap you in the face if you don't plan ahead.

I was an elf mage who made Ali King with me as chancellor/lover. (no Anora)
Then played as a HNF and married Ali.

Now my guy has a major mancrush and isn't content to have had his way with everyone he can in the game. Wants Alistair too. (we don't need a cutscene)

I plan to save after the Alienage - before I talk to Anora so I can be OC and try a few more endings before Awakening claims me and this new guy.

Thanks for any info.

He should be around after the coronation, but he defaults to returning to the Wardens if he's not king and he doesn't have a love interest to follow around. You can tell Anora you're going back to the Wardens (even if you are engaged to her...doesn't change anything there) but there won't be any mention of him in your epilogue.

His endings are a little buggy from what I've heard. So far I've only had him marry Anora and that's turned out OK - in my current game he should be a bitter drunk, hopefully. :)

If Alistair is around to father Morrigan's baby, it means that you have skipped the chance to make him a bitter drunk. Spare Loghain and send him on his way, then he become's Oghren's new best friend.

oh, rats. so, no Ali as bud unless I rebuild the GWs. that sucks. let's see...Alistair, or Anora and being King....*weighs the two*....

maybe I should just go after M and my Old God baby...
so many choices....so little epilogue satisfaction.

thanks for the info. I've got a long way to go, so I'll just let Daemon decide when the time comes. I just made a music video about DA, so maybe I'll make my own epilogue for Ali and Daemon.  ^_~

My HNF was romantically involved with Alistair. I left Anora queen, Alistair dueled Loghain and killed him, did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan, and we both survived the final battle. In the epilogue, it says that we took over running the new Gray Warden lands and rebuilding the order, and though Alistair traveled, he was never gone long from my side.

It happened in my first origin, I stood behind Anora at the Landsmeet, failed to persuade Alistair to marry her and spared Loghain. Then he left and ended as drunk.

Though I must say I felt really bad. And not only becouse Alistair being better tank then Loghain...
