i simply say why not be able to wield two pistols or SMGS whats the big deal idk if it could be just me liking to run and gun but i really would not have problem this. i think i would make the game fun for those who like the option its not they would force this on everyone it just be an option you pick up one gunand then somehthing may ask if you like to carry two of such and such pistol or SMG. but.... again thats just my take on this.

The artwork and promo video were created by Bioware people, not some random nerds

and yeah man carrying a nuke launcher, a lighting launcher, and a gun that shoots black holes is really realistic

Yes, promo art is normally created by the company, but does NOT make it cannon, it merely makes it consept art.

As for the heavy guns, I can merely write that off as 200 years in the future, if you actually use those things, I prefer granades and rockets myself.

Without resorting to crude comments about realism, I'm just going to say that dual-wielding does not fit well with the 'style' of Mass Effect. Yes, some of the guns are not very realistic (arc projector), but everything is done with the intention of making Shepard feel like a military-trained hardcore soldier. Dual wielding does not fit that intention very well.

I agree that it doesn't suit Shepard, but why can't say Miranda be running around with two pistols? That seems like her style.

Why the hate about the Arc projector? We can already shoot lightning RL, the Mass Effect universe just gives an explonation about aiming it.

not sure about that. We kinda got Shepard here as a hero with an elite merc squad, running around the galaxy righting wrongs robin hood style, or simply being a badass and stealing and killing, while working for a terrorist organization.

Me being the ammo hog that i am never really cared dual wielding since it is a waste of ammo. (or in this case thermal clips) Halo is the only game that pulled it off and even then I seldom ever used dual wielding since my gameplay style is rifleman oriented.

Which is why I could perhaps see Thane or Miranda dual-wielding pistols. But more than anything else, Shepard comes from a strict military background. Regardless of which class you pick, I would say none of the styles seem fitted to dual wielding. What makes Shepard interesting is that he feels like a military soldier whose working with criminal-style characters, not that he suddenly starts acting like them as well.

dual wielding pistols is cool, the only problem is that nobody ever use pistols again after the "training mission" :P (AFAIK)

And can you take two pistols and accuratly hit a target?  Not likely, more likely that you hit the target and just about anything near it.
The point to using a single pistol is to properly aim it, its kinda like shooting blindly around corners, looks great in movies, not so functional in RL.

Its like firing a gun with it tilting sideways, great in movies, not all that safe when the shell is ejected UP over your hand, on top of that, you loose SOME aiming accuracy.

I've always wondered how the hell is someone going to reload with both their hands busy.

Unless its one of *those* universes that has women reloading with their boobs.

Looking at the Mass Effect Universe, dual wielding does not really fit in. I don't think I recall any enemies using that tactic in either games. I don't see why Shepard suddenly resorts to such tactics. In my opinion dual wielding can be done, but it does not fit into the universe. Atleast not in actual gameplay.

It actually wouldn't be that hard. Mag realease button drops the mags, and you can hold the full mag along with the pistol. Once the new mag is in just hit the slide release and you're good to go.
