I have logged about 40hrs with my warrior who is specialized in berzerker and champion. When using berserk althought the tooltip says its a sustained ablility is wears off after each fight, quite often fights happen right after another and so its on cooldown alot is this intended?

Also I have been using fully upgraded Rally sustained ability but after gaining the Superiority(Passive) Rally seems to wear off when going to another zone which is frustrating because its on cooldown as soon as I enter another zone and a fight, while all my other sustained abilities are still active. Is this intended?

If this is intended for each of these abilities I really dont understand, to be honest I really think these abilities are broken at the moment, can i get a bioware tech rep to comment please because this is very annoying and frustrating.

Playing on the XBOX edition by the way...

I'm on pc and i've noticed the berserk thing with the dwarf. I think it's either a bad tooltip, or it's bugged.

I was wondering if anyone specifically has had the same problems with rally that I have, I honestly do not think it is supposed to wear off when changing zones. A good example of how this is a problem, In the alienage section of denethim you have to enter and exit alot of rooms and apartment areas so everytime you do this the rally sustained effect wears off but you are affected by the cooldown as if you turned it off manually.

After playing a bit more today I am certain Rally is bugged. I would like to know if bioware is aware of this and if they are planning on patching for the xbox to fix these types of bugs.

The rally bug is certainly more game breaking than the beserk bug if beserk is actually bug which i am still on the fence about and wont really know until someone from bioware confirms.

Same thing with Momentum in Dual-Wielding. I noticed it turns itself off on occasions i can't quite specify. It is also a sustained ability and it is supposed to reserve a part of the fatigue right? Not to turn itself of if the remaining portion of your fatigue is finished.

Well Rally turns off specifically when you exit and enter another zone, it could be just going into a building. So this skill is pretty specific when it happens and I noticed it wasnt doing this till I put a talent point into Superiority, so that in itself tells me its bugged.

Beserk on the other had also seems bugged since i can active it and keep it up way before a fight but as soon as I engage in a fight and when the fight is over it automatically deactivates, this doesnt seem like its working right. If beserk wasnt ment to stay up then it should be on a timer or say combat duration only.

These little bugs are a bit game breaking for me and are really starting to annoy the crap out of me. Especially when bioware doesnt comment on it.

I am getting to the point where i am not going to buy another bioware game until I see that there arent problems with it like this one. Because if there is aka Mass effect 2 I am not gonna buy it. I dont appreciate haveing to come onto a forum to see if a skill that should have been QA tested works the way its supposed to or not and If i should expect to see a patch sooner than later to fix it.

Berserk is working as intended one way to deal with having to turn it on every fight would be to set a tactic, something like Self: Any -> Activate mode: Berserk. The same should work for Rally though the cool down would make it more difficult.

Ok, first off thanks for replying.

I have noticed that tactics only work on non-player controlled characters?

But...Rally seems bugged in the fact that it shouldnt be turning off after leaving and entering areas. It wasnt doing this until I specced the talent Superiority. This hasnt Really been a problem until I went into and out of all the buildings in the alienage to rescue the hostage elves.

That is correct tactics will only work on characters that you do not have selected. With regards to Rally I have been unable to find the intended behaviour, some abilities like this have to be turned of on transitions or conversations to avoid unintended consequences. I understand that this could be frustrating.

Blood Magic works the same way, but also turns off when menu screens come up, surely this isn't an intended feature?

Ok I understand, however the problem I am having with Rally wearing off with every zone change was not happening until I put a talent point into Superiority. Logic tells me thats a bug.

This is the XBOX version btw.

Thank you for responding to this issue, I am hoping we can work it out. I am also hoping that bioware is working on a patch to address issues like this for the XBOX and not just PC.

It's possible that you're running out of stamina, which will cause your sustained abilities to switch off.

If you have several sustained abilities active and start using a lot of 3rd or 4th tier abilities, you can mow through a lot of stamina. Final Blow uses all of it, and pretty much guarantees that your sustained abilities will switch off--though hopefully living up to its name in the process. :)

If you're just go through a door, though, and your stamina is topped up, the abilities shouldn't be switching off.

I can have stamina topped up with rally on and whenever I zone to another location it automatically turns off. Intended?

I believe it is intended as transitioning is effectively a "rally and move".  Based on my reading of the description of Rally (like Berserk), they're intended to be short-duration abilities (effectively beginning and ending with combat)

You  guys need to pass the message about the bad tooltip then.

The description says nothing about this only working when fighting in the description. On top of that, when you look at the "rules" part of the tooltip, it's the same as the other sustained abilities that you can keep up all the time.

There is a bug with Berserk...it turns off when opening up menus during fights, even with fully topped off fatigue. Every time I open a menu during a fight (inventory, character pane, skills, talents, etc.) Berserk turns off. That can't be intended.

I undertand Berserk turning off between fights...from a roleplaying point of view, but not every time I open a menu during a fight.

As I understand it, Berserking is an uncontrolled rage.  The things you do in the menu require control (switching armor in a fight? finding a potion and moving it to your belt? crafting more potions?) it might be a bug, but if so I think it makes sense

That makes absolutely NO sense, especially in a game that advocates "combat pausing."  Grabbing a potion from your belt shouldn't make your rage subside.

If the devs intend for Berserk to keep this ridiculous "sustained" mechanic then they need to lower the stamina cost and reduce the cooldown.  It's not as if the ability is so OPed that it needs to be used in combat only.
