So, does anyone have a clue who the white figures on the title page are supposed to be?
http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/
I believe I count 16. I'm thinking they might either be companions, key characters, or a mix of both. If they are all companions then there are certainly a HELL of a lot of them, more so than any other Bioware game I believe? Anyone else think it would be cool if Bioware revealed who they were over time and "un-shadowed" each figure? Looking forward to seeing if they have a meaning or if they're just there for show.
White figures?

I counted 20 if you count the small ones behind the hands and make sure you count the elf head to the left.;
Maybe that shows us the possible paths to power.

Arttis speaks the truth, there's 20 figures. One on the left of the image is obscured by the website border, three behind Hawke are obscured by his cloak.Arttis wrote...

Companions hopefully, the people behind who Hawke really is, the people who helped him become who he is.
20 companions may be a large number, but the game takes place over 10 years so who knows.

20 companions would only work if they left and joined over the course of the story.

Or depending on choices your options on companions grow smaller.

Or they are meant for significant NPCs in the game (companions, Big Bads, family, whatnot).

Hopefully if there's going to be that many they won't be too dliuted in terms of character depth. BG2 pulled it off with 16 (well, apart from Cernd), but then again they weren't fully voiced.

Taking a closer look at the figures I think I might be able to make out a few females...
- Rightmost figure (looks like a person with long hair?)
- Figure 5th from the left (possibly a mage? Appears to be wearing a robe)
- Figure to the left of Hawke's left (our left) hand (another robed female?)

Who says they are necessarily companions. They could just simply be characters that the entire plot hinges on, with Hawke taking center stage.

I think it could be interesting to see if any of your old buddies from Origins return in prominent roles... perhaps even as companions?!

I think it's just representative of Hawke striding ahead of the crowd to become a Champion and king/warlord or whatever. It's like he's at the head of a crowd.
