I still want to give my characters longer hairstyles, kinda like this-
This, but going down a little short of half way down the back
Would the game be able to support realistic long hair now?

Mike Hawke is very hairy.
I thought the Mike Hawke pun was getting old, but you brought it right back to funny.

Eh, long hair has never looked good in a Bioware game.
Yeah, that is true. But at some point, they've GOT to make it work.
Short hair gets old. My main male Warden had the braided ponytail and my main female Warden(currently my avatar) obviously isn't rolling with short hair, or what could be called, short.

I can't play with anything else in KotOR but the long haired dude.

Agreed. You can't look metal without long hair.
And you want Mike Hawke to look like a metalhead?

I want Mike Hawke to look like York Hawke.
Seriously though, Mike Hawke should be able to look like whatever I want Mike Hawke to look like.

I think it'll be a number of years before hardware advances enough for real-time hair modelling to be widely implemented. I can't wait until that day. That and full cloth movement.
I can't wait for that day too. But by then, we'll be playing in full holo-technology where we feel the sword slashes and gunshots hit us.
All for the sake of Immersion.

Do people really mind if long hair clips into outfits?
I know some do, but I want to hear it directly from you guys.

If they can't make it look halfway decent, they shouldn't bother. The long hair styles in DAO looked really bad...
I liked the braided ponytail for my male Warden, the style my female Warden has, and The Lady of the Forest's.
Those worked. Of course, she got lucky since she wasn't wearing any clothing.

Clipping doesn't bother me that much. The heavy armorsets in DAO had serious clipping issues even when a character was just standing there, and it never bothered me.LPPrince wrote...

I just hate long hair that is completely rigid. It looks like planks of wood with hair painted on it.

I hate that. If they can make it flow, then put it in.
