Hawke should be able to buy different kinds of arms. For example, I would want a cookie dispenser arm.

So I wonder what is up whit Hawkes metal arm?
Is it a piece of armor, or is a prosthetic metal arm because he lost in fleeing from the Darkspawn.

Its.....armor.....seriously, I thought we stitched this debate up already.  It's NOT some sort of wierd prosthetic or whatever lol....It's simply armor....simply.  Buuuuut dont let ME be the one to burst the bubble, wait and see when the game hits the shelves Posted Image

Nah... I knew already it is armour, at first I just wasn't sure if it was I thought that maybe he lost his arm during the Darkspawns attack on Lothering.
And after that it was replaced by a metal prosthetic arm like with Guts from Berserk or a character from A Song From Ice and Fire wich name should not be named in case of spoilers.

Apparently so does Hawke :(

IMO it's a horrible attempt to go after the Emo Goth Poser crowd

And as long as you realize that it is exactly that, an OPINION......Because if you tried to pass it off as fact you might have actually sounded like you have something against Emo's and Goths....To which then, you and I sir/madam, would have issues....And by issues I mean most likely some heated debate starting.  To which either one or both of us would end up banned for.....Since I dont want that and you obviously dont want that....Lets just go ahead and agree to disagree with your PoV and pity you for hating something you obviously dont know much about? K bye Posted Image

Whoat slow down there guy.  You pity me because Emo Goth Claw Arms are played out?  Uhhh that doesnt even make sense:crying:

No lol...Admittedly I probably misread alot of that....It just seemed to me that it was a post intended to be judgemental toward the Emo and Goth crowd.  I dont get angry about alot of things anymore....But judging someone and including the term "Loser" or "Poser"  in it simply because of the way someone dresses? Yea, that I have a problem with.

@Risax - I was thinking more like Fullmetal Alchemist Posted Image

I think I said "Emo Poser"  which is defined as anyone dressing emo and then making Pose faces at a camera.   :)  If I said, loser, I'm sorry.

Sorry if someone got offended because some posts about Emo's or Gothics.
This was not my intention I just wanted to have a conversation about Hawkes armored arm.
And before someone shoves this in my face... I said somewhere to not post anymore Emo or Gothic pictures, this was said because well some pictures where disturbing, well the one I saw some guy coverd in blood or something...

Meh, I only get in a twist when some folks (not you Risax lol) decide that it's ok to judge someone based off of how they decide they want to dress...I did not find the pics disturbing...Nor offensive...What I did find offensive is the judgmental "tone" in which some of those pics and posts seemed to have. As I said, I rarely get "angry" anymore....Why? Because life's too damn short to get angry over most things...But people judging others because of how they look, yea, that one still gets under my skin....

But back onto topic...I like Hawkes armor and I especially like that bladed polearm he has...And I like the "Clawed" gauntlet....What Im actually concerned about, is the artstyle...Im still on the fence as to whether or not I like it...Once I see more recent screens Ill make a final assessment but that's another thread altogether...One, that already exists if Im not mistaken :)

Meh... people should wear watever makes them feel comfertable.

Also I am wondering how combat with a pole arm would be and if he actually uses the gauntlet, either to defend himself or attack with it, or bothPosted Image.

It looks like Hawke uses his armored arm to cast magic in the trailer.

Maybe there is something special about it after all.

Well, I think I've seen somewhere the arcane schooled warriors, who use one of their hands for fighting and the latter for magic. Ow, here it is, Lineage 2!

And here you've got the in-game armors:

I meant it more along the lines of A Song Of Ice and Fire when one of the main characters loses an arm and it replaced by a metal arm.

Same goes for Berserk where Guts gets a metal arm with a magnet in it to hold his sword or something.

I have not gotten (or heard of) to that part, and I'm looking forward to it...

Anyway about the arm.....Im thinking that Hawkes one armored arm has to do with that fire magic thing he is able to do...maybe to protect himself from his own usage of said ability.

Well it seems to be more than just armor for show, since he burns the qunari's head with it leaving a fiery mark, as well as does something to his injured? arm later on. Could amplify magic or maybe is a magical melee/touch weapon.  It covers his entire arm ... has me curious.

But now that you mention it, Flemeth seems to have a clawed arm but her left one instead.  Could Hawke possibly have the other arm that should be in a pair?:

Thats what I meant yeah.
But still he could be a mage... But a warrior whit a specialisation to use magic is awesome.
As long as it is better then Spirit Warrior.
