Hi, I can't see my character on the creation screen. I can play the game on very high with every detail perfectly so its not about my system. I really want to play the game but dumb looking bald human character of mine is really making it hard for me. I can't stand that avatar! Please help, thanks.

Edit: I searched the forum and I think I need to uninstall the game then reinstall without patching to 1.03. I hope it works.

I've done that so many times but it doesn't help when you want to create a character for Awakening as that needs V1.03 so its a bummer. Got the same blasted problem and I've spent 24 hours reinstalling mods chargens etc to play the game normally and gotten nowhere fast.

I'll keep an eye on your post to see if you get any answers.

It worked. I'm playing with 1.0 version now and I can see the character on the creation screen. I only have Origins so I don't know about Awakening. :)

I had trouble with this www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php , I remove it with DAModder and now my character creation screen works again.

My opinion is that there was some corruption of a graphics element in those cases, not strictly a patch-related fault as the only causative factor.

Did the character creation element ever show you any part of your character?  If you previously had no problem, prior to patching, what else have you changed?

You should take into consideration that this is a weekend, and across most of the (stateside) country, the fall weather is mild, even pleasant, so that being inside reading forum messages cannot compete with the available activities away from the home / office (a lot of our message traffic is from people on the job, on break, or during lulls in responsibilites).

Readership on weekends is always low, and nice weather adds its own attractions to our regular readers here.  I've not experienced your problem, personally.  Be that as it may, in case someone with greater familarity with either the first case, or this second variation does come along, you (all) needed to fill in a proper problem report.

This most recent newest arrival, I believe you should have a separate message of your own, because it really doesn't sound to me as if you have added your complaint to a thread about the exact same type of problem.  You appear to have just arrived, newly joined up here, so it wouldn't be possible for you to compare any before and after situation for patches anyway.

Including adequate information in a problem report, DA O:

Avoid any expansion or DLC that demands a patch beyond 1.02A, for hard copy buyers. Digital copy buyers may more likely be stuck with 1.04, same as those afflicted with Steam.

Anyone playing "Me, Too!" doesn't really want an answer, IMO.

Copied from the other thread about this issue that is currently right above this:

While adding all of the applicable technical information so that someone can help you, you should also check to see if you have any appearance mods installed. A number of them began behaving differently after the 1.04 patch, particularly if installed as an override file in a mod-manager.
