Would you like to see gear sets like in Mass Effect 2 or individual pieces that can be mixed and matched like in DAO? Personally I don't care too much as there are advantages to either. At least with the ME2 system you don't have to look like a clown half the time.

For the love of The Maker stick to the DA:O pieces.
I find it very interesting to collect different pieces of armor.
Love my stats.

I really liked the way equipment was handled in ME 2, I though it was a vast improvement over the horrible loot system of ME 1. But while that system is a great fit for a Sci-Fi game like ME, it would would feel out of place in a fantasy RPG.
The short version: I'd prefer that they use the DA:O system, rather than the ME 2 system, in DA 2.

Keep Dragon Age, but give me armor stands in whatever my camp will be. Armor stands other than unused companions, that is.
That brings up an interesting point, though. If the story is all about gaining power and wealth, perhaps as the 10 years pass, our "camp' will be upgraded, eventually to lavish Arl-Estate like buildings.

I never equipped helmets in both because of how it impacted certain scenes, thus it wouldn't change much for me.

Individual pieces, I hope. If they were to follow the ME model then it would pretty much gut the stat system. Besides, creating optimum sets of gear for your party is part of the fun.

If the game has the same limited options as Mass Effect 2 then it wont be much of an RPG.
Seriously though, depth and customization are partly what's great about CRPG's, console RPGs tend to be quite closed off, especially the JRPG ones. Aside from armour I want to option to dye stuff and add livery's like car-templates to Armour. If it's super streamlined like Mass Effect then it big balls.

The only gear that was forcibly a set was the DLC stuff. All the normal gear in ME2 were pieces you could buy, mix, and match for their stats/looks. However, unlike Dragon Age, you could color the gear so it matches or looks the way you want, and none of the gear was tiered so if there is a specific look or combination of stats you like, you can keep it for the whole game.

All 4 of them.

The stats on the gear were utterly pointless though, and there was only a handful of pieces.
I would like to see tinting go away though... each tier and class of armour should look different. (With lower tiers being simpler and higher tiers being more extravagant)
Sure it adds a bit more model/texture work, but it'd be worth it.

I'd at least like the option to customize the color scheme. ME2 had it right in this regard

Seeing as the Dev teams for ME and DAO are totally different, probably like DAO

Something i wish they would take from Mass effect is that you can hide the helmet..

What I'd also like is, when I for example equip a chest-piece, but not a pair of boots or gloves, please don't display my character with bare feet or hands.
I remember the first time I played a Dwarven Noble I didn't pick up any shoes before meeting up with Duncan. Result? I arrived in Ostagar with bare feet. Bloody annoying.

Yes, helmet toggles are awesome, and I can't imagine them being hard to implement.
