I was just wondering, there is a lot of whining going on right now since they released a little info about DA2 but is there a chance they will listen?

If the fans treat them as human beings instead of verbal piñatas, then yes.

When feedback is presented in a civil and intelligent manner, ofcourse they read it. If there's a post raging about "blah blah console sellout EA blows, blah blah" they don't read past the first few words.

But just because a small percentage of their customer base isn't getting a custom game tailored to them, BioWare isn't going to retract announcements and scrap all their plans to please what barely amounts to not even 10% (yes, that's us on the forums).

They can't really respond to most of the whining because we know nothing about what they're working on.

Besides, it's not always a good idea to respond to those who are crying out.

Those who are happy as is make a hundreth of the scream a complainer does.

Bioware listens to their fans constantly, and this has been proven time and time again. However, as Javier said, they only listen when a topic is presented in a respectful, well-thought out manner.

What I've seen on the DA2 forums over the last two days is that over 80% of the whining is nothing short of despicable and pathetic with an air of "Why aren't they tailoring the game to me?!" Hell, many of these arguments have no factual base and are simply blowing something out of proportion.

We know next to nothing about Dragon Age 2, yet the "fans" are tearing this place to pieces based (heavily) upon a lot of assumptions.

They listen, yes, but if you mean, "Do they [re]design their games based on forum feedback," then I have to say that I haven't seen much evidence of it from when Origins was in development. OriginsIsBest, didn't you say you hated DA2 forever and you were leaving the forums since Bioware betrayed you? Why are you still here? Whatever the reason, please stop spreading your own opinion like you speak for most people.

Did you not see this thread?

Despite the obviously insulting OP, Devs STILL took the time to say their thoughts on the matter, despite the other numerous insulting posts from other Users as well.

If you write a novel about a deer, and someone comes up to you and says it's crap because you're not writing about a mayfly, you're not likely to pay them any heed whatsoever, especially when you've not read past the first page of said novel.

Take it easy. They are persons like you and I. The have feelings, they have lives. People should stop complaining so much and talking crap about their work.

It is excatly that. A vocal minority. Take your name for example "OriginsIsBest". You went out of your way to make an entirely new account JUST so you could complain.

All I want is for them to take at least some of the whining under advisment and hopefully understand where some of it is coming from.

Judging by the ignorant and immature crying on these forums, for the sake of the company I sure as hell hope not.

To touch on Javi's post-

Bioware also will NOT change a feature they themselves feel fits perfectly. Hence, ME2's recharging health system compared to ME1's medigel saving health system.

Bioware does listen to its fans though. Many references in Bioware games are to the fans and the forums, for example, ME2's Blasto and Quarian-Love references.

Will they listen to what you have to say? Sure, if your idea/argument is mature, intelligent, and isn't completely ludicrous.

Otherwise, they'll laugh and turn the other way, as they should.

how do you decide whats constructive?

1. Not insulting or offensive to BioWare employees, EA employees or its customers in any manner

2. Provides novel ideas on how to improve the product and/or service

"This isn't like Dragon Age: Origins!" is not constructive or novel in the slightest.

It doesn't even necessarily HAVE to be constructive. but DOES need to be respectful. This is THEIR forums, that they maintain for the sole purpose of fan feedback. Construct your post as if you're talking to a respected teacher at a college you go to, one who you're NOT on a first name basis with. State your ideas/concerns/reasons in a coherent manner, minus PC/Console/Developer/Publisher bias (to a reasonable extent) and you're likely to get a response. ESPECIALLY from David Gaider. He takes the time to write an astonishing amount of responses, and I'd even say that the DA Devs are more active on the forums than the ME Devs, so really, take what you have, and make the best of it.

If people posted constructive feedback about what is good, what works, why, what changes could be made to the changes they want so that it's appealing, etc... instead of just blind hate/fear mongering. Threads and posts like Ecael's are the kind Bioware probably takes seriously. But not threads like "ZOMG I HAET HAWKE COZ HE AINT WRDEN N TIS Iz probLY GNR B A FPS FUUUUU NERDRAG WEREZ LELIANANAANANANA"

Javi hits it again.

Hell, when I spoke to Patrick Weekes, I referred to him as "Mr. Weekes" many times.

Speaking of which, where is he anyway?
