And it sounds great a golden College of Magi, statues of heroes in the streets even in the smal towns and the dead are buried in Palaces ( i forgot if it was all poeple or nobles).
Anyway I hope Bioware stays true too this, and more!

Kirkwall is one of the Free Marches city-states that lies directly to the north of Ferelden, across the Waking Sea. It has an interesting background, which I'm sure we'll get into in more detail in the months to come.

Or is it like the first game, where we're restricted to a specific part of Thedas?

Looking forward to more info. It's exciting to learn more about other parts of Thedas in greater detail.

Oh, does this mean we might head to other areas as well?

Unless we are going to be able to go anywhere this will be the case.
That there is a conference of the Magi in Cumberland seems to be too much of a coincidence for there not to be a visit.

Interesting, I'm excited to hear more about the Free Marches culture, how it differs from Ferelden

I don't mind. They could save Orlais for the third game, or other areas. You know what I mean.

Yeah. But I do think that there will be excursions to Nevarra, Antiva and Tevinter.

I'm sure I read something that said the Free Marshes work like the medieval states of Milan and Venice. But I could be going mad.
That would probably be Antiva. But it is city states at least.

imo, screw the star wars MMO, Dragon age seems big enough to support a grand MMO world.
you already have a Ferelden Faction, and we know they have been at war with other factions, we know most Elves hate humans, Dwarfs are just plain angry at everyone including themselves.
you have a huge variety of monsters, and the bosses are there, since we know a lot of dragons exist, alot of broodmothers exist etc etc.
Seriously, i want a dragon age MMO.

I may give Guild Wars 2 a spin, but that's sort of a different prospect.

I don't. There's already a dearth of single player RPGs, and an excess of MMOs. After quitting WoW a few years ago, I don't think I'll be playing another MMO for a good long while.

Fair enough, i think i would support more single player RPGs over another MMO anyways, but i was just thinking that a lot of the material is already there for an MMO

College of Magi? And here I thought all the education was down in the tower.
That was in Ferelden.
Every country has a diffrent Circle of Magi.

There has to be somewhere where the senior enchanters lay down the ground rules for the circles.

I always thought there where more then one Circle in each country.
And if the Senior Encharters of each Circle meet somewhere to lay down the rules,I think it would be somewhere else.
Like where the Chantry has more power, because I heard that in some parts in Thedas they don't believe in the Maker.
The Dalish and Qunari are obvious, but there must be others.

I'd expect to see a return of Werewolves, whether or not you decided to save them in Origins. They make a different type of enemy and I think it wouldn't be too far fetched to have one as a party member to mix it up a bit.
I'm hoping for a wider array of weapons. As it stands there are too few variations. So the introduction of spears, halberds and sword variants would be great.
Finally i'm hoping for alot more variety in the enemies. Alot of them were just variations on Genlocks and Hurlocks. I want more creepy looking monstrosities warped by the fade.

As for the city states... It sounds to me that the city states of the Free Marshes are the Hansa, while the Antivian ones are the Italian city states. Same same but different.
I always thought Antiva was more based on Spain.
But then again i purly based that on Zevran's accent.
