My recommendation to the writers or scripters of this game is to make the triggers for romance more obvious. Dragon Age was certainly better than Mass Effect 1 about what started the relationship (not to mention being able to break up with the love interest), but I have still heard of people "accidentally" romancing someone.

I was playing a female Warden the other day and for whatever reason, I seemed to have started the Alistair romance without even flirting with him. I think saying "Thank you Alistair, that was very sweet" when Alistair said that he enjoyed traveling with the Warden (in the conversation after Goldanna) may have triggered it. I'm not sure how thanking him for his words = romance with him.

This is, of course, remedied just by "breaking up" with him, but I'd like for the developers make the triggers more obvious.

Some of this is in the Gameinformer article, and I'm trying not to steal their thunder. Thunder theft is a serious crime!

* Finish Leliana's quest in Denerim
* Decide to stop making fun of her for being crazy and be nice for a change
* Sleep with Morrigan
* She asks if I tell Morrigan the same things I tell her.
* I go "wat"

what id like to know is will characters come and go from the plot much. party members especialy would need pretty strong incentive to be hanging round the main character for 10 years. also will party members appearance change would be funny if some macho warrior let himself go and by year 7 struggled to find fitting armour wthout a corsit by year 10 he could be in and out of hospital with a heart condition

It makes sense that it'll be more obvious, considering what we know about the dialogue wheel. If you're hitting on someone there'll be some smarmy-looking face leering in the middle of the wheel.

Thanks, I almost choked to death on trail mix there because of you two ^_^

But I was starting to enjoy getting ninja-romanced.

The ninja-romances were pretty unintentionally funny at times.  Poor Kaidan.  He thought FemShep wanted in his pants, and the entire time I the player am sitting there going, "Honey, you're voiced by Carth.  You're doomed to an unpleasant end." :devil:

Perhaps there will be clear indications that you are choosing the romance initiating dialogue this time, such as those dialogue options having a different color.

I agree. A simple color change would avoid the problems that people are having regarding "ninja romances."

Yes but Leliana was a very jealous avatar.She had low self-eesterm . Remind me of  dawnstar in jade empire.

*comfort me*.

I don,t want it to be too much *obvious* ..Because in life nothing always obvious.You can tell a woman that you like her and she think that you want to bed her.

-hey what your number

The dialogue wheel led to my PC being surprise smecksed by the Asari consort. However, verbal dialogue was not much better. As someone whose PC ended up being smooched when she said "too early to tell" in response to Alistair's verbal mashnote, I think Alistair's triggers were way too subtle for me.

I am also a dunderhead. So, maybe the developers will mark one dialogue wheel spoke "LEADS TO SMOOCHYFACE/SMECKSY TIME" and mark it with bright flashing lights so that I know what I am getting myself into?

Like the fellows who claimed they had NO IDEA that Zevran's offer of a massage in the privacy of their tent was a come-on? ;)

Yes, there are some things we get to do now which will make the intent of a paraphrase clearer, which is nice. Like Mary suggests, the GameInformer article will explain this. Thunder a-plenty to be had, there.

Although there's also the opposite problem of the ninja romance: the scarily aggressive Shepard romance. Seriously, when I picked the romance dialogue for Garrus, I thought FemShep was going to jump him then and there.

I can understand making the ME2 romance dialogue options painfully obvious after the extensive ninja-romance problems of ME1, but let's not swing too far the other way, mmk?
