 Hi!

I don't know if this has been posted before but I was curious, will there be romance options in Dragon Age 2? I mean I loved the romances in DA:O and I was severely disappointed when I found out Awakening wouldn't have any (I mean, Anders was clearly asking for it) so I was just wondering about the situation.
Please let there be.
Thank you for reading :)

Bioware games and romances are pretty much connected at the hip.

Except for Shattered Steel and MDK2.

The Mass effect wheel, Which will say something comepletely different to what it says on screen. Which is a BIG disapointment for me. I like to know what my Character is going to say.Image IPB

Romances in a Bioware game are pretty much a given. Except when they decided to be lazy and not include them in Awakening.

I played Mass Effect the other day (just started) and in the beggining, when you meet that guy that hid behind crates because he was asleep, and he said there was another... alien (I don't know what their called yet, Turian?) I chose "Other one?" and she snips "What the hell are you talking about?!" I don't think I'm gonna like this wheel, much.

What exactly does the wheel do? I don't really play mass effect anymore.

It gets better in the second game, though I agree that the wheel in the first game leaves a lot to be desired. Often you'd get several options to choose from only for all of them to result in the same dialogue choice.

Anyways I'm pretty sure there will be romances in DA2. It would seem weird for them not to be included.

The wheel is the reason I bought Mass effect and then sold it 2 days after. I just dont like it, but Im going to give it a chance and if it turns out like Mass effect then you will see my Dragon age 2 on ebay the next day.

I hope they let you flirt and pursue a romance with anyone, but those who you can't romance will simply reject you. It would be interesting to have party members hook up with each other, too, instead of everyone just being around to only ever want you, or be chaste. Two party members who are in a relationship, that you can choose to try and break up to move in on or something would be interesting and new.

I think that inter-party relationships should only happen either among non-romanceable characters, or if the player pushes the two people into a relationship.

Also, flirt with anyone? So Hawke can flirt with the end boss, but be terribly sad when it doesn't return Hawke's affections? :crying:

Morrigan and Alistair romance would've been silly.

Now that's taken care of...

I think romances in DA2 are pretty much a given. What I'm more interested in is how they will work along the 10-year timeframe. Will Hawke meet different women at different points of his storyline? Or will we be given the opportunity to meet someone early in the game and romance them over a decade, perhaps getting married or similar?

Really? I was hoping and praying for a Morrigan/Alistair romance. I think those two were secretly totally attracted to each other.

I agree, I'd like to see some inter-party relationships, like Haer'dalis and Aerie in BG2. That bastard stole her from me, which led to me deciding to romance the lovely Jaheira instead.

aiya people there are 3876 threads for complaints about the wheel. Pleeeeease let a few threads stay non-wheel related.

(you would have made terrible cave people...)

Romance seems highly likely I just worry how it will be done.

For the record though the Dev's have only commented on romance so far as to say "We haven't even confirmed companions yet!" (even though we know there will be companions.)
