From what I read, you can customise Hawke, but he´ll definitely be human. Not sure if he can be a She though.

IMO, I love the dialogue system of DA:O or NWN more than ME system.

I will wait to see the video of dialogue system so we'll see.

Though I´m glad about that, I don´t understand the point of it.

They should either make it like in DAo with FULL customisation, or like in Halo with none at all. But nothing in between.

Look at the complaining for just having to be Human with customization, make it none at all and what would you expect to see?
As an RPG I think you have to allow at least some customization or your going to start losing true RPG fans.

? Tirigon, I take it you don't like the concept of Hawke then?
For me, BioWare RPGs aren't about customising your character, they're about the story. Hawke isn't your character, he's not "the PC", he's been given experiences, a background, a backstory and emotions. He's not Shepard, because Shepard was trying to mix a third-person hero with a fully-customisable PC, and the result was a cool, personalised character without much depth. You controlled the story with the Dragon Age PC, you made choices from the Origin to the destruction of the Archdemon. In DA2, you're controlling Hawke from a mid-point in his/her life, after some of his traits and experiences have been decided.

To me, this can only be a good thing. This, people, is Shepard with a soul. And I, for one, love it.

Alright, I'm aware that so far, we're going to have ME style dialogue. From what a few posters here mentioned in a magazine preview, options will also include a general tone (i.e. sarcastic, aggressive) to convey how a certain line of dialogue will be spoken to an NPC.

So, from what I understand, it'll be sort of a mix of Mass Effect's paraphrasing, and Alpha Protocol's "stance system", where you are given the gist of what Hawke will say in addition to how Hawke will say it. Will this be the case for the dialogue system? Devs, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

If this is the case, then I think it's very good for this kind of dialogue system. That way, you don't get the redundancy of hearing every line of dialogue over again, but at the same time, it isn't vague and doesn't give as much of a discrepancy between the dialogue prompt and what is actually being said, allowing things to be clearer for the player.

I haven't played Alpha Protocol yet, so I can't compare the DA2 system with theirs. However, it looks like you've got the gist of the new system. You have a wheel like Mass Effect's, and when you move over a selection, you get an icon in the center of the wheel that indicates the intent of the player line: Flirty, violent, sarcastic, etc.

Sounds good to me.

True, but the way I see it this means multiple races.

If they prefer a set character I would it prefer if they simply made a NON-RPG.

What is planned seems senseless. You annoy people by having a canon, AND you don´t have enough canon to focus completely on story instead of roleplaying........

That depends on how far they go. As a huge fan of games like Halo I wouldn´t mind if you can´t roleplay a character the way you want. I wouldn´t even mind if DA2 was a Hack´n´Slash with good story and characters instead of "true" RPG. (I loved the Witcher, for example).

But it seems as if there is still some customisation and stuff, and that worries me. I dislike middle-ground. I prefer it if they choose one side - either full RPG or fully the other way.

A voiced main character and 3rd person view during conversations will make for a more cinematic experience when playing DA2, just like the Mass Effect Games. It looks awesome, just like playing a movie, but personally I prefer the dialogue system from Dragon Age: Origins, especially since I'm not too fond of the conversation wheel, but maybe I'm just old-school (Baldur's Gate Posted Image).
DA2 is going to be a great game nonetheless, really looking forward to it Posted Image
