I have to say I'm kind of ambivalent about bringing back old characters if we're having a new PC and new story. Say you run into Sten or someone from Origins as Hawke- as a player you'll be thinking "Hey! Its Sten!" But in game, Sten has no clue who this Hawke fellow is- they certainly aren't Kadan and you're left with a glaring disconnect between the player, the PC and the old character.

I'll just say that if Hawke conveniently runs into Morrigan while my poor chump of a Cousland is searching the ends of Thedas for Morrigan and his Old God Baby....yeah, I will not be pleased...

Ditto for the male companions!

I don't think any of the companions from Orgins should be your companions in DA2, well, maybe Oghren, because he's just that awesome, but certainly none of the romanacble ones! I've already made my claim on Zev and Alistair!

Bioware, give us our Claudia black voiced witch of the wilds, and a full game with her and the Origin's PC.

i dont want no one back it drives me nuts when games do that unless you pass morrigan which somehow creates a dragon age 3 where hawk and warden pal upto find her, but if you got to bring old characters back why not just keep the game about the warden and all the old pals



at the moment it really really sucks to me 1st game we are equal to no one except a prince and now we are a peasent, talk about downgrading and if anyone seen the new pics yet? the close up of hawk looks the same as origins but the one of the orge and the guys looks rubbish

Zevran, Morrigan, Alistair, and Shale were not only my favorite DA:O companions, but some of my favorite video game characters ever.... i will really miss them.  I guess it would be neat to see them in DA2, but like others have mentioned, it just won't be the same as Hawke, and our old Warden character not being around.

I'd like to see Lelianna and Shale at some point, seeing Lelianna would make sense too.

She was my love interest in the game, Morrigan was just too ****y and rude for me.

Also, I agree about Oghren. He should be in EVERY DA game ever made.

If we hear Teeaagaann out of nowhere, that would be hilarious. I can just imagine those two traveling down a desert, and our warden stumbles upon them after hearing that... I hope we at least get to see the warden in Lothering--would be epic!

Bring Gorim back and let me kick his ass!!!!! I just finished the Female noble dwarf origin and went to Denerim.... I want to break his neck!!

BTW, why does Bioware love to break my heart??  I can't take much more breaking! Freaking Kaidan calling me names, Cullen cussing me out, Gorim marrying a fluzie right after telling me he'd always love me!!  *cries*

Hoi there, Nozy, my old fellow-in-disgust-with-ME2!  Have you still stuck around in the ME2 forums? I got lured back here when I saw that DA2 had been announced.

I think odds are the writing isn't going to be a total disaster in DA2 (in fact, I'm quite optimistic so far about it), so cheer up!  When Mac Walters gets announced as the new head writer, is the time to get worried.

Just imagine King Alistair's first meeting with Hawke : "Ah yes, the archdemon. We have discounted those rumors..."

Haven't read the whole thread, but I can't believe nobody suggested this:

The Warden should get a cameo!

Only if you imported the right save of course, so it can be your Warden out of that save. And no VO available, so it would be limited to a few emotes and generally looking awesome. But it'd be cool. And reinforce that whole "this is my story of Thedas" feeling.

Hawke should get a similar cameo in DA3, assuming it continues with the trend and stars a different player character.

edit: okay, someone did, sorry *grin* Wasn't visible to a casual eyeballing...  More exposure to the idea!
