I wonder who decided HAWKE was most fitting
I personally would have gone for Marcus

I feel the need to bring up Gaider's Laws of Naming Things once again, of which there are two:
1) No matter what you name something, because the only only bar to evaluate it is personal preference everyone will immediately hate it.
2) Eventually, once they begin to associate that name with the thing, they won't be able to imagine what else it could possibly have been called.

Yeah, let's use names that were already used in the first game! How about Amell, or Cousland? Those were cool.

Personally, I'd rather enjoy a character name that cannot be used for silly jokes like "Tony Hawke" , "Mike Hawke" or "NightElfMo Hawke". Yet. that's just me.

I hate apostrophes in fantasy names. What linguistic purpose is it meant to serve? Guttural stop? Phonetic Gemination?
To look "fantasy"?

I am not hugely against Hawke to the point it will ruin the game for me, I just wince at it because the first thing it brings to mind is it's a very Hollywood Action Hero last name. The whole 'fight like a Spartan' combined with Hawke just makes you wince at how very hip and edgy they seem to want him to be.

Nope all these names I'm using variations from actual ones used in various fantasy games

I know. The fantasy naming convention of throwing in random apostrophes into names really needs to stop.
